Pretty much agreed on all points; especially on the small part about Stomps. They're like the Bones of Eao in this game. So many people on Hunter can't play one without them. Extra stuff down in the spoiler to avoid wall:
The overwhelming majority of top console players have some stank feet, because they've never taken off their old pair of Air Jordans from the game's release. I remember so many players in the last game that I see in this game that I'd play in Classic FFA try to play Hunter by sweat rules(which was no Exotic armor at the time) just switch to Bones later on in a match after too much time at the bottom, or outright switch classes entirely because they couldn't play basic Hunter. I used to be a diehard Hunter/Blade/"Pole" main, but not anymore in this sequel. Stomps allow for very "mindless" playstyles to be rewarded as you put it(though not on the same level as say OEM), while also making good playstyles even stronger.
I just want a playlist with Exotic armor perks disabled in it. I'd bet money the top players and class stats you see now would be very different there.

Well shiiiizzz, I'm not defending OEM, but even with the near unanimously agreed brokenness it provides, it's interesting to note that Titans still aren't higher than Hunters, and never have been(console wise, which OP is in the top percentage of) if you simply look at stat sites like guardian.gg, or have a lot of experience in multiple seasons being at Legend rank in Comp/Survival. It's almost exclusively blue poles and purple blades, except for the few weirdos like myself. But while I'm sure the actual statistic(if we could find an official one) isn't really that high, I agree that's the case for the majority. Hell, there are plenty of people I've seen and played with/against who literally only play Titan if they can use OEM, never touching it otherwise except for PvE.

  • Yeah it would be way different, I wouldn’t mind seeing it. I tried astrocyte verse on my warlock for fun last night and it was cool, but not moving as fast and having to put way more effort into positioning since you can’t slide as far or as reliably is definitely something to get used to.

Yup. Don't get me wrong, on my Titan(which I suppose is my main at this point, though pretty much ThunderYEET only) I almost only use Dunemarchers, and on my Warlock, only Transversives and Ophidians.(Though there was a small time where I just enforced no Exotic armor on myself.) More put in spoiler to avoid wall:
But even with the added movement, I don't just mindlessly run around the map or find myself using them to desperately get back into position after being too far out in the open. Something that got brought to my attention, especially by people using Erentil, is that so many players here on console, even my own friends and those I consider better than myself, have a terrible concept of cover and positioning. So many times I just find myself mentally asking things like, "Why were you standing there? Why would you jump there?" when I see them making what I think are very obvious misplays(considering the skill bracket) given whatever the circumstances may be.
One good example is a bud of mine who wants to get more into Titan(no OEM though)/Warlock gameplay for PvP. I'll leave the rest in spoilers to avoid a wall again:
He's been on Hunter for a long time, and does more than well enough on one. But he's always playing in areas I'll call "West Bubble-blam!-". However, the mobility often saves him and makes up for it. But on Warlock/Titan, mainly for controller because we can't just pull off instant, omnidirectional slides and turns like MnK, he struggles a lot because he doesn't have anything in his kit to really bail him out when caught in West Bubble-blam!-, which he normally just uses Dodge or Stomps jumps to do. Or he'll overcommit to challening around a corner and die because he can't just Dodge backwards or go up again after falling towards opponents.
