Is Disabling Shadows ban able?
So, my computer is a pretty low end computer, and i generally get 20-40fps in game. In most games i play, i try to disable shadows if possible, but the only way to do that in destiny is to edit a variable in one the files. Hence the title.
I would like to know before hand if it is a ban able offense.

Please be advised you can edit the cvars and NOT be banned this was sorted many moons ago. However if you’re modding just about anything else you can be banned.

Do not edit game files. One they cause corruptions on your file and two editing anything within the game files may cause a ban. If you have nvidia control panel you can try lowering stuff there but generally you’d just edit stuff in game

If there is an option in the Destiny 2 settings tab that says "Shadows ON/OFF", then you're fine. If you have to use a third party program to do it, you will be permanently banned
