There is nothing fun, competitive or interesting about this boring ass game mode. It is yet another attempt to farm guardian hours with boring, ridiculous and worthless content that you hold us hostage over and make us play. Focus on crucible if you in way have the ability and get rid of this shit mode of boring content.

1 ReplyEdited by Chaos: 8/31/2020 11:51:27 PMI know some people who enjoy it, but to tie exotics to it with how it works and what the exotic quests have you do, was just asking for pure mayhem upon the game mode. When I play gambit to get exotics for PvE or PvP (read: Crucible) I simply gun for the objective of the quest and ignore the rest of it until I can leave the game-mode till the next Exotic Quest bungie decides to tie gambit to. If gambit loving people hate when non-gambit loving people do that, maybe they should ask Bungie to stop tying Exotic quests to Gambit like the rest of the non-gambit loving people <3

I like gambit

Gambit is fun and fine.

2 RepliesGambit has potential. It hasn’t been realized yet, but it’s there. Instead of removing it, we should unlock that potential
-
1 ReplyYeah sometimes I feel like that but that's the first pvp game mode I really enjoyed. Could use a rework tho
-
4 RepliesHell no, aside from Iron Banner's style of control, Gambit (not Prime) is probably the most exciting PvP mode in the game. Those 2 modes have so much competitive potential i honestly think if Bungie actually put some effort into balancing and PvP they could be esports and help fund the game possibly more than eververse ever could. The only people who hate Gambit from what i've noticed are people who either aren't very good at it, or having trouble figuring it out not saying that to attack you or be mean, in fact if you play on pc is be cool with playing a couple of rounds with you to see if i can change your mind. The PvE aspect kinda has a raid/horde feel which can be competitive because 2 good teams of 3 with the right loadouts could compete to see who gets it done faster, and pvp wise the invaders practically make the game mode and its always exciting when they hit the field so having a great invader or a team thats uninvadable would be crazy in a competitive atmosphere or a team with alternating invaders one long range one short to always keep the other team on their toes.. Ive actually put alot into this and i disagree with you, i feel like this game has a ton of pvp potential and they're either afraid to or just refuse to put any effort into it. HOWEVER i agree that Gambit Prime can go in replacement for something else. Its too time consuming and quite frankly is just a Gambit Sweat Box for the try hards and the Reckoning can go too.

1 ReplyDon’t play it? Why do you still play this game if you hate it so much? You literally complain about every single mode. Why not find a different game for a while and come back later or wait for D3?
-
Agreed.... Its terrible
-
I personally love the mode, and hopefully they keep it. Prime I do not like as much, but regular Gambit is a blast.

1 ReplyI just posted this in its own topic, but "This sucks ass" topics always will dominate over constructive criticism, so I'm posting this here. Suggestions to Bungie to IMPROVE and FIX Gambit. I just reset my valor in Gambit for the second time this season and just obtained "Exit Strategy," as well as "Hush," and obtained the "Perfect Game" Gambit medal yesterday. So, I'm Gambit'd out for a while. Bungie had a good idea, and expanded Gambit with Prime, but the game mode has a critical flaw that I saw over and over again. The first team to bank X number of motes and invades, and wipes the opposing team first wins. Out of the close to 100 games I played only twice did my team come back from an early game team wipe and it was to the wire. Pretty much it is useless to keep on playing after your team gets wiped early in the game. Yes, there are “gimme” catch up mechanics, and it is possible, but most of the games I played the early invade was the deciding point of the game. Suggestions to make Gambit better. #1. Make Gambit Prime a “two stack” system. That is to say make it so players only have to go through two phases of killing killing envoys vs. three. Yes, previously the Primeval could be melted pretty easily, but that’s changed, and the three rounds just drag out things unnecessarily. #2 Activate UNLIMITED Invasions from the moment the round starts till X time. (like after 50 motes banked) BUT if you choose to invade, the enemies (ads) on your side get tougher to kill for your team to kill for the duration you are gone. (Enemies get more aggressive, or more accurate, or become shielded, but not during the Primeval phase.) On the screen you’d see “The enemy is emboldened” while you fight against the enemy adds while your ally is invading. Then, invasions after X time can only occur if the team kills a certain highlighted tough enemy. The “Invasion Token” enemy drops an invasion engram and Heavy Ammo. The Invasion Token must be picked up, and only that person that picks up the engram can invade. The Heavy Ammo is meant for the invader, but anyone in the team can pick it up. The idea would be to make the “Invasion Token” enemy annoying, like a Barrier Knight. Something that can’t be necessarily be easily taken out. The idea would be to make the “Invasion Token” enemy annoying, like a Barrier Knight. Something that can’t be necessarily be easily taken out. This “Invasion Token” enemy would initially spawn -away- from where most of the enemies are. But after the first invasion it would always spawn near other enemies. Lastly, the moment an invader would return to their own side the “Invader Token” enemy would also respawn. A team could IGNORE the “Invasion Token” enemy entirely. That is to say they’d probably still encounter it as the enemies shift their spawn to the various points in the arena, but just killing the enemy and collecting the token would not cause a respawn of the “Invasion Token” enemy until that person that collected the token dies, or invades, or after one minute has elapsed. So, it would be a double-edged sword to invade. Yes, you could go invade and try to wipe the other team and slow them down, but you’d make things a little bit harder for your own teammates against regular enemies, and would have to deal with the “Invasion Token” enemy along with other enemies. This would mean that the game would be fast-paced at the start with multiple invasions on both sides, but would mean that game mode would be less dependent on that first bank/invade as it is currently. #3 Random Power Ups. Since this is GAMBIT, it would be fitting for certain (tough) enemies to drop random power up engrams that would give a player something like an Overshield, or something like rampage, or max mobility. The engram would only embolden one player at a time and would not expire until the player dies. An idea would be to also insert a new Gambit-only power up that would be “Anti-Invader Overshield.” This Overshield would -only- activate when an Invader is present and would protect against ANY singular attack. That is to say an Invader could Nova Bomb a player/enemy with an Anti-Invader Overshield and that player would always survive. BUT, the trade off would be that player with the AV Overshield would be left with only a sliver of health regardless if they take a shot from a pistol or a Nova Bomb. #4 Greatly Increased Chance of EXOTIC/CURATED drops for Gambit play, including now unobtainable weapons. Regular Gambit is near-useless now as it only drops blue gear mainly. Gambit Prime does drop more inviting items, but is more annoying and drawn out overall. Gambit’s calling card should be a GREATLY increased Exotic or Curated drops, AND to get weapons you no longer can obtain in the game, like the original Trials of the Nine weapons, and stuff like “Horror Story” and the Stochastic Variable. #5 STACKED TEAMS ONLY FIGHT STACKED TEAMS Either have a "Competitive" Gambit mode, or have it where only stacked teams fight stacked teams. Or have a "solo" mode for Gambit/Prime. Stacked teams almost always win against random teams. I saw the same patterns over and over again. My team of randos matches against stacked team. One or two teammates from my team also see this and drop out, leaving me to have a miserable and drawn-out game. Yes, it is possible for randos to beat a stacked team, but even a stacked team that is half-assing can easily win over randos generally.

5 RepliesNah I’ve farmed for really fun rolls and a few dream rolls, the modes are not the best but it’s a nice break from everything else ever so often.
-
1 ReplyIf only there was a way to not have to play any given game mode in a video game 🤔
-
2 RepliesThe Gambit grind is what burns players out. The requirements take quite awhile to complete and the repetition makes the game seem stale and boring. Coupled with the fact that once you have a good Bygones and Trust there really isn’t anything else in the loot pool that’s a “must have” I haven’t finished Exit Strategy yet. All other Season 8 pinnacles have been acquired already. There’s a reason Gambit is last on the “to complete” list. It’s BAF!

3 RepliesI was a staunch hater of Gambit but then had nothing to do for a while so thought, put you big girl panties on, and go for it. I go into each game with a feeling of, If I win, I win - If I loose, I loose BUT the pvp aspect of it kills me - I just run & hide when the invader is there. Still managed to solo getting Breakneck, 21% Delerium and cherry on top of cake - Malfeasance. Halfway through getting the new SMG but have to be in the right frame of mind for it. They can get rid of Prime, I don't mind the third round in the normal mode.
-
Nobody is forcing you to do anything. YOU ARE
-
Just because you dont like a game mode doesnt mean no one else is allowed to
-
I like gambit tho... even if I lose its fun :)
-
1 ReplyGive me a break. If you don't like the mode, don't play it. Why would you take it away from people who do? There are plenty of players still using that mode.
-
Disagree . Still fun. Still play it.
-
I personally love Gambit prime. There are playstyles, armor, ritual weapons, backstory, and a little bit of everything destiny has to offer in terms of PvP and killing a big baddie all at the same time. When really getting into the strategy of prime, I see it as an ornate chess like game where timing the sending of blockers and invading when the enemy has a lot to lose are just two examples of tactics used in a game mode that's unique to all the others. I love Gambit so I'm biased here, but I see no reason to remove a mode from the game simply because it has a lower percentage of overall play or a pocket of players don't personally like it.

2 RepliesI enjoy it. Few things are as satisfying in D2 as invading and getting 4+1. We dont have much to offer guardians in terms of hero moments in D2. No relic holders, no running sword, no rewards to shout about, no single handedly running the lamps, no jumping on the back of Aksis....nada Just stand here shoot that dont wipe glory. Fun. Ill take gambit over the crap raids and oh look another horde mode lite mode any day!
-
4 RepliesIt’s actually the only non PvE based game mode aside from iron banner that fits. This is a PvE game. Also I do not understand how you find it terrible. You need to effectively massacre enemies. Collect notes and not die. Bank them assuming no blockers are present. Watch for invaders. It’s a multi tier player against player mode incorporating several aspects of destiny. Not just pvp lame free for all or single objective mode.

10 RepliesEdited by Nope: 12/2/2019 2:01:35 PMThank you for posting this man, gambit is absolute trash and needs to be taken out of the game. This game mode literally got poor sleeper nerfed, now its useless in every activity.
-
I enjoy it quite a lot. It needs a few tweaks, for sure, but can be pretty fun
-
I've said this before and I'll say it again: Disable the heavy slot for the invader and Gambit will be exponentially more enjoyable. You already get an overshield, use an actual gun to get kills. Snipers are fine, those take skill.
