I used to be a pretty big raider back in D1 and did all of the raids, but when D2 rolled around I found it harder to bring myself to go to the effort of communicating and doing the raids. So far I've only done The Leviathan back when it first launched and half of Last Wish.
While I lost the drive to do them I would like to be able to say that I've done a few D2 raids as well.
So my question: Is it worth going to the trouble of beating the raids/raid lairs in Destiny 2?
Which ones should I do?
I'm thinking Last Wish, Eater of Worlds, Scourge of the Past and Garden of Salvation. These look the most interesting to me.

Last wish - yes (excellent raid) Raid lairs - no, with exception of crown of sorrow which I enjoyed. Scourge of past - really good short raid Garden of salvation - good raid but can be frustrating if your team's garbage I would say yes. Take the plunge The raids have some of best weapons And your doing yourself a dis service if you don't do them. For all the mess that D2 is at times the raids for the most part are well executed and enjoyable. Can be overwhelming when the majority of the community has completed them already as fewer people will want to do them. Frequently groups for last wish and scourge tho as people still chasing 1k and anarchy.

7 RepliesI adored the raids in D1 but I have no played a single raid in D2 because I feel they have lost that essence of wonder and fun like D1 had. They just look meh

no idea.

If we could run it back multiple times
not just by character
GoS and PoH are the best ways to get 951-960 gear drops. Pit of Heresy final chest drops a fully masterworked 951-960 piece of armor. +2 above your base power level (not including artifact bonus)

So I did Eater of Worlds on Prestige tonight... it was my first experience with that raid tonight and I always heard very bad things about it. I quit during curse of Osiris and warmind in this the only span of Destiny I did not play so I missed that raid. After playing it last night it's actually freaking pretty amazing and one of the most beautiful raids in all of Destiny so I encourage everybody to not even listen to what anybody says and look for yourself and make your own decision. And if you missed Eater of Worlds definitely give it a go it's pretty awesome I'm giving it a 10 out of 10 even though it's a little on the short side

The armor sets be keeping me away from the raids last wish had some good ones.

I would never have minded to do a raid in D1, they were just fun! Even if I didn't get any loot. I would just do them for the fun or help people. In D2 if I got the items I need I never touch it again unless someone needs help in my friend list or clan. Even then I have to want it.

I’d say start with Scourge or Eater of Worlds. Last Wish is an undertaking but it’s a lot of fun if you can find a decent fireteam.
-
I did all the raids and scourge was the most fun do scourge

1 ReplyNo, loot is forgettable, unless your going for the exotics specific in some of the raids (better hope Bungie’s RNG is feeling kind) and the complexity and difficultly of the raids is so bad for casuals that if one person is -blam!-ing up, everyone pays for it, which leads to frustration and hostility. Especially if you have to use LFG. You’re probably better off farming Vex Offensive for the 965th time.

That's like asking if it's better to eat left handed or right handed. The raids are an excellent experience. I like D2 raids a lot more. Good luck soloing Garden or Salvation... lol...! The newer raids are more intense on the individual experience and needs each person to perform their function well.

2 RepliesAll of the year 2 and 3 raids are worthwhile. All expertly designed and fun. The Year 1 raids were short, garbage, and overall the loot is terrible and uninspired. Eater of worlds is pretty much as best as it gets for year 1, but the loot gives no reason to do it.

Or forever 29......

If you enjoyed it before, I'd believe that you would like it again. Especially if you can find some people that you like to play with you.
-
You're asking a raids worth based on community experience? Big mistake...just go play the raids and judge them yourself.
-
The exotics are worth but the raids arnt that fun to be honest.

If you’ve raided before, you know the deal. I used 1k from Last Wish for most of year 2. You can do a few full runs then prioritize a certain encounter using the Wish wall, it is the longest raid. Anarchy is nice with arc burn and helps when doing Crown (Spire 2.0). Scourge and Crown are relatively short and have about 2 roles you really have to know, so go for it on that note. It just comes down to if ya wanna deal with D2 people, or have interested friends

Anarchy and 1000 voices make scourge and last wish worth it.
-
Yes for the raid specific exotics! One day I’ll find a team to help me with the Divinity.
-
If you have friends, who are not toxic, yes.
-
If you're looking for great loot, no. But they're fun at least.
-
I'd say it is. They are all pretty well designed and have thier own plus points. A few of them stood out for me as well, LW and CoS, but I'd say they are all worth a go.

Raid weapons are boring but the experience is cool

Year 2 and on, yes. These raids and lairs have been among my favorites.
