Bungie creates pinnacle weapons for year 2, making everyone grind their a$$ off and then decides... yea we changed our minds. All those hours you dedicated, we don’t care. It literally took me 2 seasons to get NF on the old, far more unforgiving glory system. I got to use it for about 1/2 season before the nerf.
Instead of just neutering community fav weapons, which they put in the loot pool to entice us to keep playing during really bad seasons, why not just tone them down a notch at a time? Or... leaving them as is and making them exotics? Instead of this bait and switch tactic.
-Breakneck
was not a game breaking weapon and is now just a regular legendary auto rifle
-Lunas/NF
While some adjustments may have been needed to their dominance, they double nerfed these which was overkill. Now they are only a good legendary HC and def not worth grinding for if you do not have.
-Recluse
While we have yet to see the effects, this is a heart breaker. A better nerf to this weapon would to be so that MoA only activates on recluse kills instead of any kills.
Bungie then- “here are these amazing pinnacle weapons to give you a reason to spend countless hours chasing and playing our game, during really bad seasons.”
Bungie now- “all that time you spent thinking that you were financing this car and owning it, we changed our minds, and it was only a lease.”
BAIT AND SWITCH
-
That’s bungie, instead of balancing they completely destroy pinnacle gear.

8 RepliesI think that they should have never made pinnacle weapons in the first place considering they break the game

Im fine with it. They need to nerf the good guns so that people want to get the new good guns. It's happened since destiny 1. I just accept it now. Might not be your game if you can't handle nerfs.
-
4 RepliesHow are they supposed to incentivize weaker guns like hush or oxygen unless they nerf everything else so they look appealing? Destiny guns have expectation dates at a certain point the gun gets a nerf and suddenly thier latest DLC guns are the new best....
-
3 RepliesBungie is lazy. Pure and simple. LH/NF are a typical example. First the are nerfed from 180 to 150's. No other HC at the time was nerfed.....ok Bungie your doing your job. I get that, now comes the lazy part. HC's on PC are way too dominate because of a lack of recoil on PC so lazy Bungie shows up and does a nerf to all HC across both PC and Console. Its not an individual nerf but a hard cap on HC range so range perks no longer matter......super lazy. Were LH/NF protected from this nerf because they just got nerfed? Nope that would have taken work on Bugngie's part. They got nerfed a second time. Tuning is fine........pure lazyness is just bad business.

This game isn't an MMO, and despite what Bungie thinks it never will be. They don't have tiers (level bands) of progression and can't add a new highest tier of play with every expansion like a real MMO would. The old gear still works great in the old content but the new tier is better and needed for the new material kind of thing. They don't have enough content, so what they do is use LL to artificially create a new tier. As far as rewards go, they don't have a whole new tier come out either. They have to chop down the old best guns so they can make room for new ones. Pinnacle weapons were never going to be permanently top tier, it just doesn't fit their model. What incentive would we have to keep chasing guns if we already have the best ones? Get used to having the guns you spent time getting traded out for new ones every so often. It's just the best they can do. They kind of forgot the old system of greens are better than whites, blues are better than greens, legendaries are very good, exotics are top shelf too and that doesn't help the situation.

1 ReplyHate to point it to you, but people on the reddit destiny discord actually wanted recluse to be nerfed.
-
Agree 100%
-
Tbh recluse needs to be nerfed harder. Wish mag howl was reverted though.
-
Bruh all this -blam!-ing forum did was -blam!- and moan about people that had pinnacles and how unfair it was because they were too hard to get. Fast forward, now that everyone has them because fabled is -blam!-ing bullshit easy to get and quests got nerfed to shit everyone is complaining again. Y’all are like some -blam!-ing children.

Recluse, what theyre doing isnt neutering the weapon. Currently its very strong in the hands of anyone who picks it up. Especially in pve. NF/LH on the other hand, perk nerf, RoF nerf, and then the general range reduction for all hand cannons not only neutered them, but made it a lot more awkward for anyone doing it in the now. Restoring the perk is honestly all id ask for on those, and im still in the process of NF >..> an honestly its probably just gonna go in my vault as a "i did a thing" medal

2 RepliesExcept it's not really a bait and switch because you still have them and they still function in more or less the same advertised way. You have what you are presented. LH/NF are handcannons that have low recoil and turn precision hits into bonus damage on following shots. Redrix/Breakneck are weapons that buff up weapon fire rate after kills. The Recluse will grant bonus damage on kill with any weapon. Yeah it's unfortunate to have rewards obtained a year ago be tweaked due to over-performance, but it is what it is.

I agree with you on Breakneck and LH/NF. My outlook on Recluse I different though. Other legendary SMG’s with similar rolls perform good as well. Master of Arms doesn’t need any other changes after this nerf. I have rolls of Subjunctive with Rampage/Multikill Clip/Swashbuckler with Outlaw and they pretty awesome. Feeding Frenzy is as good as it gets for reload on an SMG and that will help keep Recluse on top. Normally I am against nerfs, but I feel like the Recluse nerf is necessary to allow other weapons to shine. The only thing that will change my views is if I go to use it next season and it struggles to perform similarly to other SMG’s.
-
5 RepliesRecluse should actually only trigger MoA when getting kills with another weapon. That would keep it top-tier in PvP while dethroning it in PvE.
-
1 ReplyAt least you have not forgotten, this glory system maybe more forgiving but legend is out of reach for some of us. Fair play to you getting it hard mode 👍
-
I’d take a pre nerf Luna/NF if it was exotic. I actually thought that was the best idea at the time because if felt exotic and made your loadout choice more restrictive.

1 ReplyEdited by Spooky_Ari: 11/25/2019 4:34:46 PMIt's not the reward that matters, it's the experience you had along the way. Don't you feel like you deserve that NF because of the hardship you went through? Congratulations, trophy holder.

I think in some capacity, we all knew it was going to happen. I mean, it's Bungie....

5 RepliesI keep seeing people complain about breakneck, but it's still my go-to auto rifle. I honestly don't get why people say it's not great anymore.
