So you want the Malfeasance hand cannon, sure get the first step from a specific boss in a game mode nobody wants to play, yeah kill some taken bosses and stuff. Okay now you must travel to the dreaming city and do a mission so difficult it will break you in 10 minuets, the first time I did this mission it took me 2 hours to get from the start to the part on the staircase and from then another hour trying to figure out how that many Thrall could spawn in such a small amount of time, I had an easier time soloing Crota's
End than with the First part of this mission. Some things you will notice right away is there is a match-game modifier, a variant of an iron modifier and stuff hits way, way too hard for a 750 mission, yes you heard me correctly, 750. This means a new light player who just hopped into Destiny 2 for the first time can be baited into doing this quest and thinking they can complete this mission with relative ease, most players like me don't have many friends to play with and when they are on they aren't nearly good enough to complete this mission. With a fireteam of 3 decent players I still think this can be a huge challenge, your basically doing a 980 nightfall with no champions, except it's literally not even a strike, it's an exotic quest step, I have never been so disappointed in Bungie's thought process. This quest step literally makes me not want the gun at all and it locks the gun away behind this insufferable mission. Truly, truly disappointed Bungie and I hope too see some kind of change with this exotic quest.

I don't know I thought it was pretty easy even solo tbh, I died like 10 times and then figured out a way to beat it without dying another time, and tbh they have it skill locked so power doesn't really matter, any power you have above what the mission is set at goes to waste and you are basically put into a situation where you are under leveled compared to all the enemies, just pop on some mods where whenever you pick up an orb of power you heal a bunch and get an easily spammable ability so you can keep healing, also ostea striga was insanely helpful for ad clear.

1 ReplyAlso very disappointed in this. I am currently at 1567, and it makes no difference. I have been trying to do this quest for what seems like an eternity. I think today I have just completely given up.

Edited by CRÆVΞN: 8/14/2021 5:22:30 AMOkay so it’s not only me. This quest is impossible for two reasons: It’s bugged and, well? You’re soloing a strike. The bug happens in the elevator (portal) room. You’re supposed to deploy ghost to hack the terminal but the prompt shows up 1 out of 5 times, so you have to kill your self and keep fighting you’re way back until the prompt shows up. It usually shows back up for me in my 4th attempt…but then you die again because, well, it’s impossible and then you have to fight your way back up five times again, just to get the prompt to show up again. Players says the bug has been in the map for two years. Bungie doesn’t give two sh**s about solo players, this has been so since Destiny 1. They lock all the good tier end game events behind party walls and disable matchmaking. They basically say “no strangers and no solo players…friends and family only” and alienate the majority of gamers, because Bungie has basically said it themselves. They do this to promote more correspondence. Which is a fancy way of saying they tell you how you should play. They’re kind of the -godwinslaw!- of game developers. They dictate when, they dictate how… and if you’re not down? Well? Enjoy what’s there…because none of us have wives to talk to or people sleeping around the corner or anything, that we can just chat and not talk to people actually in the room. It wouldn’t really be that hard for them to enable matchmaking for campaign, quests and all matter of strikes and raids. I don’t get it… They actually have the nerve to call this a “quest. “ It’s the f***no strike! You may as well launch the strike solo because I don’t see the difference.

Still a nightmare to complete solo. Even when approaching the limit at 1220 and recommended of 1050.

1 ReplyDon't give up. Challenge leads to growth. I solo most everything and do not have a group of people to play with regularly, so my experience with this quest was similar to yours. I used the lfg on bungie to find a fireteam. There's almost always someone trying for it, so it was not hard to find a group. It was a bear, even with 3 guardians. However, it was extremely satisfying when we finally beat the boss.
