Just read the twab I am quite excited for next season reworks and buffs for the solar classes you mentioned. Especially attunment of the sky.

2 RepliesI'm a Warlock main who has been playing since launch (Although I do play all three classes and love them all in their own rights). I originally played Dawnbreaker (as did everyone else because that was the only super available to a brand new warlock back then) and thought the concept was cool. The unfortunate side of this is that the devs do not play their own game. At least not competitively and it is glaringly obvious based on the changes they are making. Quick notes for you Devs: 1. No one who plays this game wants more OHK features (in PVP at least.) . Think of it like this. Do you want me to have an ability that OHKs Callus? The fun of PVP (and PVE to a lesser extent) is getting in an epic battle where you have to out play your opponent. Having a good 30 second brawl with another player where you are ducking behind cover, jumping over each other's heads, circle strafing to achieve the perfect sight picture on the crit head shot and finally killing your opponent is what brings us back begging for more. That moment where you were evenly matched, it could have gone either way, but you eeked it out because you are truly better then your opponent. (Que the Crouch TeaBag!) 2. Arial combat is a fantastic concept and really great for PVE but the downside to the playstyle has nothing to do with speed or accuracy. The way this game is set up the player has to make a disproportional sacrifice in survivability in order to take to the sky. It is essentially saying "Hey everyone on the map. I'm right here and have no cover to hide behind. Please insta gib me!" If you actually want to make top tree viable: Trash everything you just did (I cannot stress that enough) and give them the option to consume their grenade for an overshield that lasts 3 seconds but that extends by 3 seconds on precision kills. Maybe make an exotic that refunds grenade power on precision kills to synergise with that gameplay style. Problem solved. Not game breaking OP. Not mindless nerfs disguised as buffs. Just something that actually makes the subclass viable. 3. Solar titans needed love. No one is arguing that, but it is more to do with the lack of functionality of the subclass than the specific perks. You have a tank titan in the void classes that works really well and is situationally critical to the rest of their team in both PVP and PVE. Then you have a burst damage titan in the ark classes that is helpful to the team because they can one shot people with their face. What you need to be asking yourselves is "What does a solar titan bring to the group?" If it is supposed to be sustained damage output then give it some skills that work with that playstyle. Maybe remove the short range melee abilities and give them a throwing hammer as their melee that does low damage on hit but has a DOT burn effect. Allow them to throw the hammer at enemies at mid range distances away from them and start the burn, couple it with a solar grenade that also slow burn DOTs and let them finish the enemy off with their sweet business (Sweet Business needs a buff btw but that is a conversation for a different thread). Then their super could be that they engulf themselves in flames providing them with a burning aura that applies a DOT to anyone who comes near them and keep the flaming maul concept. That way when they pop their super people try to keep their distance not only from the titan but their burning maul which gives the titan a chance at picking the thing back up. Maybe make an exotic that refunds melee and grenade energy for every DOT that is active. Now you have a sustain damage DOT stacker that will help the team burn down large HP PVE enemies and a combatant that specializes in the interdiction of enemy freedom of movement within tactically critical areas of the map in PVP.

5 RepliesEdited by Erijian: 11/22/2019 3:00:45 AMYes, I love having speed removed from Daybreak and getting a ton of mediocre ability reworks in exchange for it that specifically target an aerial play style which is advised against due to all the aerial penalties you suffer naturally. I'm happy that in order to get the aerial accuracy buff I must consume my grenade instead of using it for zoning, rather than simply meleeing an enemy and getting a mobility and reload boost alongside it. I love that the entire playstyle depends on eating my grenade, yet they removed getting grenade energy back for securing aerial kills or for activating Daybreak. I love that in order to move fast like I can currently I must burn through my super with Icarus Dash spam because Bungie wants it to be a "skill check" (tf?) and to differentiate between the two trees Bottom Tree now has no speed whatsoever, killing the only strength it had which was the Super. At least I get two Icarus Dashes now and a melee that's the unwanted child of Blade Barrage and Chaos Reach's. Such a great change. Bravo Bungie, you've killed off Daybreak in Crucible.
Just give me back Radiance at this point.
1 ReplyWarlock's buff will be useless
-
2 RepliesSounds like the new attunement of sky is just dead to me. Airborne kills recharging Grenade was fun. Hunters get a ohk knife and they remove a fun feature from Warlocks.
-
37 RepliesOnce again, Warlocks get the shaft while the other two classes get solid buffs. How freaking typical.
-
1 ReplyI think that the new class rework is actually pretty nice for warlocks, and that we should wait to see how it turns out before automatically having all the warlocks acting hurt. These aren't changes you can automatically assume suck, we have to see them work fluently in action first before we decide on how it is. I honestly like the option of an air based class because this game makes fighting while anywhere off the ground pretty difficult. Depending on how effective the perk for the air is, I might be able to make a lot of kills out of it. It also sounds pretty fun in pve, but definitely not my style for pve.
Especially attunment of the sky.
Hahaha

Are you taking the piss?
-
4 RepliesWarlocks got nerfed dude.
-
Those changes will amount to half of the content for the Season Of Yawn.
-
Yeah. The new sharpshooter knife sounds great, though it'll take longer to execute. 👀 It'll be the only Hunter subclass that can match Titan charging and 'Lock melees but that's fine. Us Hunters are supposed to be smarter about things anyway. Curious how it pans out, peanuts aside.

1 ReplyWhy are you thanking to a company ? You are already a paying customer , Bungie needs you to keep playing the game. why are you thanking to Bungie ? They shall be thanking and caring for you.
-
5 RepliesThanx Bungo. I Have 3 options now due to being a Warlock Main. 1. Revert to Titan (Main) 2. Revert to what you want and play Hunter (Main). 3. Move on, say bye to your game as you've gutted the Warlock Class AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
2 RepliesAttunement of sky is garbage. As the game fundamentally works against it. It just isn't a good set of abilities, and has pretty crappy synergy.
-
Edited by cdibie: 11/22/2019 6:50:20 AMThank you for nerfs? Wtf?
-
1 ReplyOne shot throwing knives is a stupid idea, getting one shot by a hand held super nova is annoying as is now we got more of this
-
5 RepliesBottom tree dawnblade still has a trash neutral game. And before you crackheads go “bUT tHE sUpER cOmPenSAtEs fOr iT” I’m fully aware that bottom tree is meant to strengthen the super, but how come bottom tree striker gets to have best of both worlds? They have a terrific neutral game and a strong ass super, how come they get a pass?
-
6 RepliesI can’t believe they finally gave the hunters a OHK throwing knife. That’s been asked for for...years...idk how I feel about it. Precision hits refill your melee energy. So...you could just constantly keep throwing them if you can aim? From a distance? Idk dude...I can already hear the crying posts lol without exotics involved, shoulder charge and hand held super nova grenades at least have cool downs. Just saying...
-
Yes, thank you Bungie; looking forward to seeing 98% of the crucible population all Hunters next season. Yay!! Also, if you don't mind, in the next patch, can you go ahead and change the name of the Warlock class to Gimps or maybe Benchwarmers? Would make for a better description of said character class. Thx Bungie; you are the best!
-
Code of the Devastator will still be bad unless they fix the fact that when you swing toward an opponent you have ample time to just walk out of the way. The maul has the lowest tracking if none out of super melees in the game. Top that the distance for a swing is beyond poor, we all move too fast in each class to even be relatively threatened by this unless we're clownfesting in QP.
-
Top tree dawn blade looks like it could be pretty fun.
-
3 RepliesThank you? For balancing their own product to meet consumer needs? Thank you? Yeah.... no wonder there is so little effort if they can get gratitude for just doing the minimum... Smh
-
You mean thanks for more nerfs... if they know nerfing the dawnblade speed is not going to be popular then why -blam!-ing do it?...
-
Tbh I feel like attunement of sky didn't really need a buff. It was actually my favourite neutral game warlock subclass and I'm disappointed to see some of these changes. Still intrigued by that new melee ability though, and better Icarus Dash.
-
I'm happy with the buffs too. I just wish keyhole and combustion were on Way of the Sharpshooter. Even after the buff it's still going to be limited to 3 kills in PvE and PvP, and other classes make orbs better. Still only good with Nighthawk. Keyhole and Combustion would change that. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/254450099/0/0

3 RepliesEdited by Azur_Fenix: 11/22/2019 6:12:08 AMThe titan ones aren't gonna do shit. The warlock ones look interesting, but the hunters as usual got the best. Typical. They Titan and Warlock reworks though barely had any thought put into them compared to the hunters. Bungie playing favorites with their pet class like always.
