This post could go on forever but let’s touch the major topics that have ended with DMG saying he will pass this information along to the dev team:
1. Get rid of nerfs. Your response “more nerfs”. This is really not even a horrible one for me because I do understand the need of balance. I guess what does not match up is why can’t we just balance most things for the sake of PVP? I actually like PVP but would not be opposed to a separate weapon set for PVP and PVE. It also difficult to match this balancing with PC players versus console players.
2. Get rid of masterwork cores for upgrading weapons. Your answer: we will change their name twice and now make it even more costly to infuse weapons. I never heard anyone say can we make it more costly to infuse or masterwork weapons or armor. This move actually seems like a revenge move on Bungie’s part. The people that are going to play this game for many hours will still do it without you punishing them to do so.
3. Can we please access bounties from the menu.? Your response is this: No but we can put the eververse store accessible from the menu. I don’t participate in micro transactions on a game that I have invested so much money in. It has nothing to do with means just more about principal. I really think that free to play gamers should have an entire different eververse experience than those who actually invested lots of money in this game already. I am all about increasing player base. I just don’t think that people that have already invested lots of money being the people that are asked to finance this endeavor.
4. Make strike specific loot. Bungie: here are a couple of more blues to clog up your postmaster.
5. Give us more content. Bungie: making content is hard. Now I am about as far as you can get from a content creator but you have made some great things. There were so many “wow” moments in D1. I know that many people will just say that is just nostalgia talking. There used to videos of people earning a vex mythoclast, fatebringer, or gjallarhorn. Do those videos still exist?? Maybe 1000k voices but that is all I think that even comes into the same stratosphere.
6. What is the road map for next season. Bungie: we have some great nerfs headed your way. Again not banging on the nerfs but I have no idea what I spent my money on except a couple of nerfs.
This very long post or rant if you want to call it that only comes from the fact that we don’t just want these suggestions to be passed onto the development team. Most people would like to see action. Your company and mine both send out satisfaction surveys. The joke at my company is why bother? Nothing will be done anyway. This is the environment that Bungie has created. I think I would stop asking for feedback at this point if I were you guys.

Edited by Mr Fats: 11/22/2019 1:29:16 PMI will be honest, we are a tough customer base to please. And most people here are in the extremes. "Feedback is always asked but never acted upon" I mean, really never? seriously? you could have said "rarely" if you want to be negative (far from the truth though) but never? Second, of your points, only the more loot one and the masterwork one is what most people want, the others are quite debatable, people are constantly asking for nerfs (some of them very reasonable), bounties from the menu, while nice to have it is very complex to implement due to, I imagine, console HW limitations, or who knows really, it could also be that they want us to go to planets to ensure that they dont end up being an empty place, same as the tower, I mean, if you could access the bounties from orbit, why would you go to the tower ever again? Vault from orbit would be a far more useful thing and will have little impact on the whole player atmosphere. In fact, I would love it if they had a similar thing as they do in warframe (which really lacks of a proper social space like the tower, yeah the plains is kind of similar but not really the same) anyway the idea of being able to walk around my ship and access vault, and other spaces would be great, but again, it would have an impact on the tower... anyway the thing is, just be more neutral, nothing against negative criticism specially if deserved. :) My point is, people need to be more neutral, acknowledge the positives and the negatives, sure Vex offensive was a disappointment but the dungeon and the raid were fine, specially enjoyed the dungeon. The strike is fine as well, doesnt feel lame, so it not all negative.

1 ReplyAs long as people keep buying the game and buying stuff in ever verse there's no reason for Bungie to change how they are doing things. That being said it's probably hard for them to act on things when you have a situation like "x% of players want power fantasy and buffs and 100-x% want it to be so hard that they barely make it and (more importantly) many others don't make it so they ask for nerfs everywhere. How do you act on something like that? Clearly they need to give some things out to the content creators who advertise for them for free so that takes up some of their dev resources. They also need to do maintenance/tech debt which takes up more dev resources. After that they only have so much left so they need to decide if they work on what they want or what people are asking for. And some of it they just can't / won't ever act on. Eververse is a cash cow, it's not getting removed. Enhancement cores are one of various tools the help keep people on the hamster wheel which is the main point of the game so they aren't going away either.

Whatever can be true, can also be false. Feedback lives on the sauce of this fire because it can never be fact or the entire point would be meaningless.

38 RepliesEdited by NPC Casper: 11/21/2019 2:36:34 PMI feel you. He locked my post that is trending right now because he thought it was troll bait when it wasn't. Then it got flagged against the code of conduct even though I read the code of conduct and it did no such thing towards going against it. I tried to edit the post and delete it or take it down and now I can't. I tried messaging DMG twice inquiring about my post with no response. I have done all I can to avoid future conflict over that post yet their team is letting it trend and go out of control. I did not mean to break the Code of Conduct and am afraid if it continues trending they might do worse like lock my game account which would make me quit Destiny for good. And I have been grinding since D1 beta. Please DMG if your reading this, reply to my PM or take my post down! I just want to avoid any further punishments do to that post. I wasn't trolling. I just figured some hardcore Destiny fans would troll reply and down vote it.

2 RepliesAre you a streamers with lot of followers? If not you are not community .

He’s just doing his job. In fact they must have even praised him to be more on the forum. Company is in total panic now as they realize that the next 9 months will be very hard. Fact: buggy would still be down financially even if all players who bought into SK were buying into the whole year seasonal. That’s why the focus is continuously put on Eververse. They need some 20/40 bucks more by player. Anyway, whatever some braindead fanboys can think, this company cannot continue with this few customers.

5 RepliesThe game literally wouldn't survive if they never adjusted things. That mentality needs to stop.

14 RepliesOkay, real quick because I've been seeing it a lot lately. Y'all seem to think Community Managers have a huge say-so in the decisions that are made with a game. They really don't. Most of the time, CMs are wading through post after post of shit to find things that are genuine, respectful feedback. They then take these valid points that summarize them into reports that get issued to the team actually making the decisions. That team is not required to use the findings in the report to influence their decisions. They are encouraged to use customer feedback, but it's not necessary. When DMG or Cozmo says "I'll pass it along to the team." They're literally saying just that. They're going to put it in a report that sounds something like: "I've seen a lot of feedback regarding the Final Assault for the Season of the Undying, and most of it is negative. Here are some points I've seen consistently across the forums:" Furthermore, the CMs usually can't say negative stuff about the game. It can be seen as "not even Bungie likes their own product" and that's a big no-no. So things that are just negatives and all that usually don't get responses that will agree with you, because that's just not how it works. Y'all are acting like DMG or Cozmo are the head honchos at the table for these meetings and that's simply not the case. Quit going after them. The team in charge of these decisions wants numbers and, further than that, they want to keep people around who spend money on the game or help draw more numbers into the game. This is why streamer influence is on the rise. Oh, this person gets millions of views on a regular basis. I wonder how many people bought the game because of his videos. So on, so forth.
-
Simple. Because they don't say anything until they have what they're actually going to do. Otherwise everyone loses their minds because they make up these expectations in their head based off of "we're going to make a change to xxxx" and all the sudden pre-nerf G-horn is coming back because people run wild. Or they're just not doing anything and there will be a new flavor of the week next week.

9 RepliesFacts, streamers want one thing while the community wants the opposite. They always lean towards the streamers who they think their followers agree with everything they say.

2 RepliesI think bungie is doing better than they ever have. I think they listen to some minor things that are easier to do. But you have a bunch of valid points though. The map layouts in D2 have been really good. There is a ton of places to go that are massive in size and depth. Pve wise, the game is better than it ever has been, that includes D1. Sometimes I feel the loot pool is dogshit. But there is a ton of loot in the game now. For a newbie, it would be off the chart to earn and use all the weapons in the game now. But being a vet player, 10 new weapons, the majority of them are terrible. Just don't cut it. I like the armor skin mods. Think that was brilliant of them to do. To build my character the way I want and make it look the way I want after I build it up has been fun. Stuff like the Pit has been really good for this game. They put an exotic in there that was fun to get. But I wish a legendary weapon was tucked away in the loot pool, like the hopscotch pilgrim. It takes awhile and few and far between before one gets it. But nothing so far. Eververse isn't bad. I can earn the majority of the stuff I'd like to get. The weapon skins are over priced and should be in the loot pool rather than paying $7-8 for one. That's cheap as hell for bungie. I'd rather buy armor from the store, stuff that is insanely badass looking with glows and shit on it. But they haven't done that yet. Everything has been pretty terrible. PvP is the best thing about this game. But the balancing of a lot of it mixed with terrible lag at times can really hurt the game. But over all, bungie is doing better than ever before. They still are bungie though and do stupid shit like the vex mind being terrible, giving us 4 armor sets and a bunch of garbage in the season pass (vow was cool, the skins towards the end of the pass are cool, everything else lame as shit). I'll shut up now, writing a book. There

Probably because DMG is a community manager and has no power over what the developers do, he can really only relay information. Because, well, you know, he's not a dev.
-
Edited by Kill it Oryx: 11/21/2019 6:07:41 PMBecause most of forum posters are stupid. Even though Bungie seems to do some stupid things sometimes, it is nowhere near forum-level stupid. There are people who think nerfs are bad, that is how stupid forum posters can be. OP seems to understand that nerfs are necessary, but still names the section "get rid of nerfs". Because that is what all the forum zombies say. Are you afraid that zombies will eat you if you don't say what they say OP?

Edited by SpartanLegend_27: 11/21/2019 5:06:07 PMCorrection. Feedback is acted upon one time in the next DLC they put out, then never again until we start screaming for it again. We can't blame guys like dmg and Cozmo for this, as they're basically just PR guys. Who we need to be blaming are the lead designers like Luke Smith for not staying on it. They do great things occasionally, but they severely lack consistency. The PR guys say "we'll pass this feedback to the dev team", because the devs themselves most likely aren't reading this forum a lot and won't get the feedback otherwise. I will also say that some of the things people ask for are just plain stupid. No nerfs leads to a huge power creep problem when everything is broken and annoying, and to counteract it, you have to make something even more broken and annoying. Never nerf, only buff is a horrible design philosophy that would tank this game faster than it's ever gone in the past.
-
Edited by ValleyYeti: 11/21/2019 8:52:38 PMHis feedback is only seen from time to time because the complaints are so repetitive. He doesn't need to reply to every person who says cores are dumb.
-
6 RepliesEdited by SorrowW0lf: 11/21/2019 6:10:00 PMThey listen to feedback all the time. Just because they haven't met your personal wants, doesn't mean they aren't listening. In fact, I think the community are the ones that struggle to listen. They make demands. Like, "remove cores from infusion." Then Bungie responds with why cores are connected to infusion. Then people in the community, that don't like their response, continue posting, "remove cores," posts. Over and over and over. Or there will be hundreds of nerf this or nerf that over the course of a season, posts. Multiple posts, by multiple different people. Then Bungie tunes that gear, and we get tons of, "Screw you Bungie, how dare you nerf the gear I love, do you even listen to people on this forum" posts. The truth is, people only pay attention to feedback/lack of feedback, on the specific things that matter to them. So no matter how often Bungie makes changes based on feedback, everyone not specifically asking for said change, simply ignores Bungie's attempts at making changes based on feedback.
-
3 RepliesImplementing feedback is much more difficult than you might think. It's not quite as simple as "oh let's just change this real quick". No, First the ideas have to be tested for balance purposes. Admittedly though, sometimes that is debatable. However, changing one thing in the likely large amounts code connected to Destiny can break something else hundreds or thousands of lines away, Which is why bugs exist.
Get rid of nerfs. Your response “more nerfs”. This is really not even a horrible one for me because I do understand the need of balance
The premise of your post complaining about nerfs has little ground to stand on. Without nerfs, all of a sudden, everything would be so overpowered that the game wouldn't be fun anymore. Crucible wouldn't be fun anymore, because everything would one shot, Raid bosses would likely get close to being one shot, and so no. As much as you may not like it, nerfs are needed. I'll keep restating it on every post I see complaining about nerfs. Guardians are not gods. We do not need to feel like gods either. The tagline for the game is "Become Legend" not "Become a God". Continuing that point, the only reason our characters have done have the stuff they've done is because we're the protagonist and have plot armor. Though, agreed, separate PvP and PvE Sandboxes would be a good idea.
Get rid of masterwork cores for upgrading weapons. Your answer: we will change their name twice and now make it even more costly to infuse weapons.
No, What we have now is fine. Also, cores are easy to get now. Banshee gives them through bounties, and with the new pass system, I'm near 2k shards constantly, so buying cores from spider is great too. They drop like candy now.
Can we please access bounties from the menu.? Your response is this: No but we can put the eververse store accessible from the menu.
We can. Its in the quests tab in the menu. The are out in the open in that tab
Make strike specific loot.
I'll agree with this. I'd like to see something to make strikes worth doing more often. Otherwise it's a mindless activity with little to no reward that only gives tokens and blues.
Give us more content. Bungie: making content is hard. Now I am about as far as you can get from a content creator but you have made some great things. There were so many “wow” moments in D1. I know that many people will just say that is just nostalgia talking.
Bungie doesn't have anywhere near the resources they had when Activision was around. they had more funding, and help from other studios under Activision.
What is the road map for next season.
I suspect we'll see that roadmap either with this TWAB, or next weeks.

There's so much wrong with this post I don't disagree with the overrall message but man you make some pretty bad points.
-
You must be blind if you can’t see how feedback has shaped the game to be what it is today. Saying they don’t take feedback or apply it is just wrong.
-
As the messenger, I don't blame him. This is on Bungie Mgmt.
-
Unless our feedback fits a pre-existing narrative or accidentally coincides with something they were already planning, it gets ignored. I really don't think it's any more complicated than that.
-
That's just not true. The do react to feedback.....good and bad. We've seen it plenty of times.

Edited by Arthur Morgan’s Lungs: 11/21/2019 7:15:44 PMNotice how the CM’s didn’t respond to this post? Kind of fishy the ones they pick and choose to respond too lol.

Because bungie need to look like they care..... Leave your feedback.... And nothing happens or if somthing does happen it'll be a half assed job of somthing nobody asked for 4+ years and 3500+ hrs on d1 taught me that... Its either bungies way or no way... Either way they've got your money so why should they care what people in this forum say
