When you’re appearing offline on PSN, you appear offline in the roster but you’re still shown completely available and active inside your clan list. This has been an issue since D1 if I remember correctly.
Sometimes I just want to play by myself and not have to actively ignore or reject people, just chill. Maybe I don’t want people to see me online at 3am and then again at 8am. I need to maintain a facade that I have some kind of life outside of gaming.
Can this be fixed or is it impossible?

I agree.

1 ReplyI dont think the appear offline feature was in D1 since that was 3 years ago (or so)

Lol, I like this post. For both the legitimate request and the shameless honesty. Respect. 👊

I believe this happens on xb1 too

Usually when I want to play without my friends jumping in, I play on PC where I have not made any Destiny 2 friends yet (if even). I do agree though. I do things in game much faster than most of my friends, and sometime I just want to get it done without picking up bounties or "I need to do this real quick, do you mind?" But that usually leads to "why are you playing offline?"

Yea this has been asked for a while wish they would just do it

I think it's hilarious when one of your friends is offline, and another is online and you just hit X and can see both of them playing together. I used to play trials with a guy that did that all the time, and we'd tell him he's visible anyway...haha

1 ReplyNot always. I've got two clanmates that we can all see each other in the clan roster when we're offline. Got others that can't see any of us. It's inconsistent at best, but definitely something that needs addressed.

Read what your PlayStation says when you go to apply to be off-line.

Just become friends with everyone on your clan. Psn offline will only block you from your friends list. The game will still register you as online.

4 RepliesIt's somewhat of a privacy violation that Bungie shows you as being online despite you specifically changing a setting to make that not so. Bungie....

I one time had a clan mate accidentally send me some invite when inspecting my character before him and a couple others went into trials of the nine (long ago amirite) and when I joined, they all backed out and he went incognito and it still showed him in the clans list joined back with the others, I got a laugh but also left that clan.

I think it says something about that when you select appear offline. Some in game content may show you as online even if you are on “appear offline”. Might be wrong, but I don’t believe I am.

Society.

It bothers me also.

Set your fireteam to invite only and disable all PSN notifications. That way nobody can join you and you won't see any invitations to join others.

It doesn't do that on Xbox...at least not in game. So if that's what you mean...it should be a possible fix. The app however...it outs you so fast. I'm not sure anything can be done about that.
