I honestly think the nerf is good. Promotes you to at least aim a bit rather than mindlessly spraying. If you go for headshots, you will still get the same damage but with a tad bit more effort.

On console the recoil is uncontrollable the gun isn’t even usable anymore

12 RepliesEdited by Asylum: 11/19/2019 12:44:21 PMWell.... 1) the time invested by the vast majority of recluse owners (those of us that got it before comp was easy) are basically seeing their investment be flushed down the toilet. 2) recluse isnt OP. Hate to further hurt butts, but its not. Its extremely easy to out play in crucible because its an SMG, dont do like 99% of the community and ape and it cant hurt you. If you rush at an SMG you deserve that death, no excuses for that, ever tried to use recluse against a shotgun or erintil? Bet you lost that fight. Not to mention on console its impossible to control outside of 10m maybe 12 if youre extremely good. Its just so easy to use because 99% of PvP player have the tactical IQ of the poop emoji and dont know any other tactic besides aping. 3) nerfing something because of pve is about like putting on a condom and having sex then trying to claim youre still a virgin. You DO NOT have yo use it. And to the idiots that will say "well if you dont use the meta youre basically crippling yourself on purpose".....tf you think the nerfs doing bud? Its the exact same thing only with extra steps that make you look even more pathetic. Youre just crying because your favorite streamer or tuber told you to. If youd quit bouncing on their bologna pony youd be able to think for yourself for once 🤷♂️ 4) Bungie, in the entire history of thise franchise, have NEVER nerfed a gun and it still be useable. Everything they nerf becomes 100% useless and is never seen again (look at sidearms, how many of them you seen outside of momentum? 0. Whisper? Yeah never even fired mine, got it and dismantled it before the mission booted us back to orbit. Sleeper? They put that i D2? When?). Bungies record with nerfs is 1) to frequent and 2) so overly done they may as well just remove what ever they are nerfing from the game completely because once theyre done it becomes nothing more than a vault trophy. 5) and on top of all this REAL op weapons like shotguns and erintil go completely unchecked, warlocks havent had their melee speed fixed yet to be on par with titans and hunters (who have the exact same melee speed) hell it hasnt even been mentioned by bungie at all, massive connection problems (hell bungies own website went down for 2 days), matchmaking issues that havent even been addressed, P2P is still a thing for some reason even though it was outdated in 1990, and there are TONS of other game issues that continue to go unchecked...... But everyones worried about an SMG that ia truely not as good as they want to believe it is, i dont even use the thing in crucible because my trust is 10x better and 9/10 beats out recluse unless its got MoA prov'ed (which is a pinnacle perk so its supposed to be good, duh) and im constantly swapping it out for calus mini depending on the burn or bounties or simply because its easier to control. But yay, recluse is getting nerfed and all i got was 3 legendary shards and these terrible posts begging for the nerf to waste my time and effort. Thanks again bungie, ill never do another pinnacke type weapon again. Theyre just going to nerf it to "make other guns shine and give more variety" so why bother wasting my time when i could probably grind menagerie and get something better that wont get nerfed.

To use Slayerage’s video as an example (hurrdurr streemer bad) recluse does nowhere as much damage to shields anymore. Since you can’t hit headshots on shields recluse was really good at piercing all shields since the bodyshot buff from master of arms was so good. Now, since it doesn’t have that giant buff to headshot damage it’s not as good for some activities.
-
Yeah the only problem I had with the gun itself is it has a lightning fast ttk with the perk, even if you dump all your shots into their gut. Low skill, high reward. But the nerf will be more severe on console than PC due to... you know... recoil existing

50 RepliesEdited by Corrick II: 11/18/2019 2:44:04 PMSimple. Because it’s a PvE nerf. I will always be annoyed by PvE nerfs. And I know the argument that “No one is making you use anything” is unpopular around here but just because people don’t like hearing it doesn’t make it any less true. NO ONE is MAKING you use ANYTHING. If Recluse was literally ruining your game experience, then delete it. You can’t complain about not having powerful weapons and then complain that weapons are too powerful. I mean what do you want... “sort of” powerful weapons? That’s every weapon.

It’s a good nerf, it needed it. It was too strong for the little skill input to reach that TTK.

2 RepliesWhatever recluse is still going to be OP. Same crit damage to the head and still an increase damage to the body. Probably how it was supposed to worked to begin with. 2nd nerf already on the horizon. They should have had it do stacking damage buffs like rampage but kept the activation and duration the same. People are crying for nothing it will still be OP.

I burst mine like a pulse rifle.

See the attached training video for those that are unfamiliar on how to hit precision shots: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AG_ZLkvAVc

5 RepliesIncase you weren’t aware Mr Steam player, Recluse kicks like a mule on console. It’s not a highly focused laser like everything is on PC.

That's just Bungie's way of thinking with their ars, they basically nerf Recluse on console when it's the PC players that mostly asked for it to be nerf cause the recoil is almost non-existent which hitting headshots on pc a no brainer compare to console where the recoil is all over the place
-
5 RepliesBecause us console players have something called recoil, that's why. 2-3 bullets out of 20 might actually hit a crit, the rest kick all over the place.
-
Apparently it's too hard to aim with the gun on console. I've never had this problem and I've played controller forever.
-
The only problem is the fact that most primaries are just garbage they're pea shooters. And recoil only exists on console.

4 RepliesWhy complain about OEM, just kill the Titan with the overshield.

This is what happens when you remove auto headshots from people who are addicted to it

But sure, keep encouraging Bungo to shove square pegs into round holes. Sincerely, Someone without Recluse

7 RepliesHeadshots with a SMG on console? Basically might as well just delete the gun. Classic Bungie nerf, totally destroying a weapon
-
8 RepliesI'll complain because this is a PVE Nerf. PVE Nerfs should NEVER HAPPEN!. Since when does PVE weapon damage affect other players? It doesn't PVE weapon damage allows you to kill the enemies quickly(quicker) and as a result the content becomes easier to complete when using Recluse. Why is this a problem? It shouldn't be. Yet here we go. Bungie with their minimal SK content wants to dictate the way the game is played and when a gun like Recluse is proven to be superior to others it eventually gets nerfed. Too bad their aren't any other guns that are as exciting to use. There simply aren't. Bungie's failure to develop content alongside the SK non-existent armory point to the main issue. Lazy Development.

13 RepliesI’m fine with the nerf honestly. Mainly because it will help other weapons shine more. And yes I know recluse is a pinnacle and should be strong and it still will be. However I don’t think any gun should be top tier in every activity. This nerf will help other guns shine more
-
Pre-nerf recluse: “EZ kills = mor dopamine!” Community: “I likezes a dopamine ah hee hee gib mor!” Bungie: “uhh...you guys...what do we do here?”
-
Why complain that OEM was OP cause its really not 🤷♂️
-
9 RepliesBecause on pc you guys don't have the recoil we do on console?

Went and got an “every waking moment” with swashbuckler, it’s literally the same damn thing. People just blindly hate nerds without understanding them. Remember how much hell was raised when they announced the auto reload nerf? How about the Orpheus Rig/Skull nerfs? It’s no different now.

11 RepliesEdited by Griever: 11/18/2019 7:03:54 PMFour reasons: 1. SMGs are meant to be sprayed at close range. Nerfing it's body shot damage this much is a big nerf in damage, while PC has no problems with accuracy, console does, so console needs to be much closer now to get those head shots with a weapon that has an effective range of like 20-30 ft. 2. The damage will be equal to 2 stacks of Rampage, so it's effectiveness in PVE is drastically reduced. Any 900 RPM SMG will be better if they have Kill Clip (50%), 2 stacks of Multikill Clip (17-30-50%), or 3 stacks of Rampage (33%). The only things Recluse will have over other SMGs is how the buff is procced and how high it starts. Body shots in PVP will be dropping to 13-14, big difference. 3. A damage drop from 98-21%. When has any weapon in Destiny been nerfed that much? Even the Mythoclast with it's 34% nerf got off easy. Before we got Recluse, we were expecting it's buff to be between Kill Clip and 3 stacks of Rampage, it's being nerfed like Luna/ NF with the patch, so you're better off with any other SMG in PVE, Breakneck even. 4. This was the best they could come up with since Joker's Wild? People have been complaining about it since March I think, and they wait until after the comp changes before even addressing it. Give it to everyone then hit it with a sledgehammer nerf, because that's how you advertise "pinnacle weapons". I had no problem with it anywhere, it makes at most 1/5 of my kills in PVP and I've had it since the first week (<800 kills). It's good for every other kill unless you can chain them, that's not OP. I've died more to Bug Out Bag in the past month than Recluse, maybe that should be nerfed instead since it's killing me more. Maybe we should nerf Redrix too, it can kill in 2 shots at much longer ranges, reloads almost as fast, and after that first kill it can kill at about the same speed with that 200 RPM increase.
