...Or you know, just give us some kind of transmog/ornament system for all armor acquired. Seriously, some of the Titan exotics are just really awful looking.

15 RepliesAs much as I agree with the appearance of some Titan Exotics being...undesirable, I think Exotics should stay as-is regarding Ornamentation. Recognization and Counter-play: Imagine, for a moment (in Crucible), you see an enemy in the distance wearing Horned Shoulder pads. Given that, you can guess that a few things about that enemy. 1) They’re wearing Doom Fang Pauldrons. 2) Because they’re wearing “DFP”, they’re a Sentinel. 3) Because of the Exotic, I should avoid close-range combat with that player. If we allowed Exotic Armour to look like any other Legendary Piece, it could cause problems in regards to such events.

3 RepliesI agree some of the exotics for all the classes are not necessarily the best looking. However there are ornaments that you can get from bright engrams or buy from the eververse store. The problem is exotics look the way they do because they are exotics. There is lore surrounding them (normally) and a reason why they look as they do. Changing this and allowing transmog would not only break the lore behind them all but would also break pvp. In pve, sure it would be nice. But it wouldn't work in pvp, hence it's never been done during the 5years destiny has been about.

5 RepliesHighly obvious that you are new to this game. Smh.

2 RepliesEdited by Azur_Fenix: 11/17/2019 12:32:15 AMNever gonna happen. Why? Bungie: "Exotics should be seen! If you change their unique appearance then people wont know you are wearing one and wont know what to expect. Its for visual clarity in PvP." I would like them to be able to take universal ornaments too, but well I already know why bungie wont. Plus its extra work and we all know bungie does the bare minimum that they can when it comes to work.

If it’s turned off for pvp I’m fine with this.

2 RepliesEdited by TheArtist: 11/18/2019 2:41:08 PMNo. Because people need to be able to recognize what someone else is wearing in PVP. Since exotic armor basically carves out an exception to the game's "rules" for whoever is wearing it. The ability to "HIDE" an exotic armor piece as if it were jsut another legendary one, gives the bearer an incredibly unfair advantage in any competitive situation. As well exposing that person to accusations of cheating.....in addition to making it harder to identify real cheaters.
-
5 RepliesI think that would be a problem in crucible. You couldn't tell by the look then if a titan is using saint 14th helmet with his bubble (as example).
-
No. Bungie has exotic ornament tied to the money store so that will NEVER happen. Don't get your hopes up. Not to mention PvP. Being able to hide what exotic you have on would give you a stupid advantage at times. Every titan would hide their clown mask in shame if this were a thing. LMAO

3 RepliesYes lets remove the physical appearance of an exotic, and suddenly this guy with the halloween Eversese helmet killed me and got a big glowing overshield. "Wait that's illegal... I don't see One-Eye on him!" *goes to inspect his armor- waiting 20 years for console to load up just to make sure*
-
Haha No. They are exotics which alter gameplay significantly, everyone should be able to see them.
-
No, exotics are suppose to be able to be seen so others can see what special ability you have.

Kinda breaks the point of it being exotic, you could never look at someone and notice it. Plus some have effects on the armor itself What happens to Nighthawks charged eyes when there are no eye sockets?

Exotics are supposed to be immediately identifiable.
-
I'd love to get a piece of gear and have the ability to change or upgrade every part of it through RNG or grinding. Maybe one day.

...Or you know, just give us some kind of transmog/ornament system for all armor acquired. Seriously, some of the Titan exotics are just really awful looking.
No That’s what exotic ornaments are for
-
4 RepliesNah. I think the argument that Bungie, and a big portion of this community has made when it comes to excluding exotics from universal ornaments makes sense. They need to be identifiable within the game, both in PvP and in PvE.
-
4 RepliesNope, defies a fundamental aspect for exotics: Iconic. Your supposed to be able to immediately identify exotics. It also lets you know to watch out for certain abilities or tactics, like skull fort letting you know they're shoulder charging, or saint 14 to stay out of their bubbles.
-
Exotic weapons and armour do not allow 'universal' ornaments for the express purpose of not covering up what exotic it is. Weapons retain the profile and structure of the weapon, and armour similarly. It's intended for readability and transparency of player loadouts.

No, no and no!

2 RepliesTo confuse the enemy. Oh yeah, it’s all coming together

Edited by WP ScorpionWind: 11/17/2019 12:50:21 AMThis topic has come across before and was turned down by the majority of the community and by Bungie because doing so would make it impossible to tell what exotic someone was running by looking at them, which would directly have a negative impact on PvP especially in competitive. Plus they already have enough problems with the fact that all the legendary armor sets have yet to be made into ornaments yet.
-
I agree the only issue being pvp sadly

4 RepliesI just like how people be like "but they must be able to instantly recognize Exotic piece my enemy is using". Are you really telling me that you could identify my [armory]Geomag[/armory] or [armory]Getaway Artist[/armory] just by looking without sniper scope from other end of map?
-
2 RepliesSome exotics look ugly or do not go well with other armor you like. Bungie wanted to make it possible to identify equipped exotics (they said this somewhere), and that's why they didn't allow this. I think it was a mistake.
