Bring back Exotic class Items
I know factions are kind of dead at the moment, and faction rallies are always a circus when they come around. I think introducing exotic class items back in the game like they were in D1 would give factions an actual meaning in D2. I grinded D1 for hours on end trying to get those class items for each character, and I just feel like if they come back in the loop, it’ll open the door for factions again, which can bring so much back in the loot pool. It’s just some food for thought, and it’ll prob never happen, but if it does, it would be dope to have that to make your character to stand out just a little bit more...

Make the perk a life exotic like in D1, but instead of armor make it for weapons. I could get behind that.

Something has begun to repair the schism torn by its destruction. Vex now flood the Garden channels to protect it. We must stop the weavers before they seal the Garden and begin to summon back its heart.

Edited by Corrick II: 11/14/2019 5:02:46 PMI get what you’re saying but in my opinion exotic class items aren’t the “thing” that will make Factions relevant. Factions need a complete overhaul in terms of how they affect the game world. Players should see a benefit to pledging to a certain faction wherever they are, and should be fighting for faction dominance if they don’t already have it. Patrol zones could have supply points that give ammo and resources to the faction with the most XP gained in that zone, or strikes and other activities would give more XP or a chance at rewards depending on which faction has more control overall. Or they just need to be removed. This weird middle ground they occupy is depressingly mediocre. Exotic class items should be available anyway. They were just given to factions because it was special enough to make factions relevant at the time, but in no way should they be faction-specific.

That would be cool, but an easier fix would be to let us use our [b][u]Earned[/u][/b] class item Faction ornaments. The Faction emblems are the closest thing we have to a legendary Legacy emblem, ornaments would be as close as we could get to the class item.

Loved the new monarchy titan mark. I suffered for fashion all day flexing my new monarchy swag.

Just bring them back in general. I personally don't think they should be involved with factions because knowing Bungie as of late, they'd make them into exotics that would increase faction reward gain in some way rather than a exotic that was actually worth the code they're written with let alone the grind of getting them.

They were THE long grind item in D1! I would argue that the exotic New Monarchy cloak for the Hunter might be the single greatest looking piece of gear Destiny has ever had...come to think of it, MOST of the exotic pieces looked amazing in D1. All those hologram Warlock bands. WHEW! What happened?!

1 ReplyIt would be nice to see that effort put into this game, but it's only wishful thinking at this point. I've been looking over this forum and there are so many requests. The truth is and Bungie said it themselves, they don't have the manpower for this game. That means 99.99% of the request will never happen and even then it all depends if Bungie even feels like it. It's a nice thought, it's something that was unique about the game back in D1, but removing factions and literally ignoring us for over a year and 4 months or so about them? Not cool at all.

I want them back but i think they should get a cool perk besides a life exotic. Like maybe exotic class items can have 12 energy instead of 10 plus life exotic, or they give a 5% exp boost when worn plus life exotic.

Only if factions come back. I felt like it was a symbol of belonging and the unique respawn effects that came with them.

1 ReplyI agree that there should be exotic class items that come with the life exotic perk like in D1. I feel that they shouldn't be just for factions though. Strikes, crucible, and Gambit should have one that is obtainable through a quest. Hell Iron Banner should even get one.

I got all 3 factions on all 3 classes back in D1 and all I remember them being is a terribly long grind for something that hardly did anything. The original artifacts were much better IMO.
