Here are some suggestions for improvements to the masterwork economy:
- Change the cost of buying enhancement cores from spider to a flat rate of 10-20 legendary Shards each.
- Change the cost of Enhancement Prisms to 5 Enhancement cores each.
- Reward an Ascendant Shard upon completion of end game activities such as the raid. This could be limited to 1 per week.
- Have Xur sell Ascendant Shards for the same price as the Fated Engram. Alternatively, you could have it where exotics from Fated Engram dismantle into an Ascendant Shard, giving players the choice of keeping potentially a perfect roll or being one step closer to masterworking an armor piece.
- On next season's pass, change seasonal currency rewards (Vex Components this season) to Enhancement Prisms. This season, I've consistently had Vex Components sat with the postmaster so the ones rewarded on the season pass were pointless.
- Reward one Pinnacle Item, an Ascendent Shard and 3 Enhancement Cores for resetting your Valor and gambit rank.
- Give us the ability to re-roll affinity on each armor piece so you don't have to have more than one masterworked version of each armor piece.
Overall I feel that masterworking a full armor set for three characters is going to take a very long time for veteran players, let alone new players.

Just grind Hero NF’s for prisms, ascendant shards shouldnt be easy to get. Idk how this is a problem for people, i dont even grind for them and i have enough enchancement cores and prisms
-
Cores are extremely easy to obtain. Dismantle your pit rewards if they are masterworked dreambane for 6 cores and 6 prisms. Dreamabne is absolute garbage so you’ll be ok.
-
Add enhancement cores to old activities such as The Well, Shattered Throne, Heroic Adventurers, The Reckoning, Heroic Public Events, The Menagerie, and so on, so there is some replay value. Every time Destiny adds a new activity the old ones become worthless. Once you hit the soft cap everything becomes worthless except grinding for season points or pinnacle drops.
-
The forums complained about enhancement cores being too grindy- so bungie decided to show what an actual grind is. Blame the whiners.
-
I did masterwork 3 sets for my Titan & a few items for my Hunter & Warlock. But so far I spent over 2000 cores. The amounts needed is directly at odds with statements about wanting players to experiment with different builds. Sure for some items 9 might be sufficient, but you are leaving 12 extra points on the table.
-
No because the raids are EASY. They are time consuming but bloody pieces of piss at this point. Farm the 980 Nightfall like your supposed to. I have three masterworked sets and max shards and prisms because I farm it like youre supposed to (well mainly for solar stompies or frosties but lets not diverge)
-
I dont have any problem farming the 980 nightfalls but there should be something that awards at least 1 ascendant shard per week. It can be difficult so all the toyboys dont get triggered off "easy mode" but at least guaranteed.
-
I don’t agree on every point but in general towards this idea, strongly agree. They are too rare and take my playtime from activitites like PvP and Gambit which I’d really liked more.
-
So basically you asking for easy mode. Oh ths pepsi generation of gamers always turns me on.
-
Yes. I play 4 hours a day and can barely upgrade anything to level 10.

There are very few activities to get these cores / shards. Crucible needs to be buffed in terms of materials and drops.

I think banshee should have a weekly bounty that awards ascendant shards. like get 500 kills with this specific weapon type.
-
I think for next season if they have something like Vex mind components they need to add a package you can purchase similar to what we have with FoTL atm where you can get some materials and weapons with the events currency.
-
Bungie: "we hear you, we are going to implement the changes you requested. Were also going to be adding a new material to the mix. It takes 10 ascendant shards to acquire it."
-
Thanks for the feedback. We will pass this on to the team..... (sound of crumpling paper landing in a metal trashcan)

Ascendant Shards and Prisms just need a PvP source. Pretty much nothing else is necessary imo.
