I've noticed that many fanfic writers have taken to posting all the pages of their story at once and I've noticed that it creates two problems on both sides
1. It hurts the chance that someone will see your work
And
2. It flood the forums
I'm no expert but I've noticed that if you make two posts in quick succession the likelihood of the second post gaining any traction is drastically smaller then the first, meaning that whatever your second post was will essentially be lost to the wind. Now take the few of you who make 10 posts a day and maybe now you see the problem
If I could make a recommendation I'd say that for those fanfic writers who want to share story to have a week long break between each post, I've noticed that a week is usually the most effective
This will decrease your flooding of the lore forums and increase the likelihood of viewers seeing the post

1 ReplyThis is solid advice, and I sincerely hope all aspiring writers take it into consideration. As for my own thoughts on the matter, I fear FanFiction on the Lore forums may never find a peaceful state. With the removal of Gallery, people who want to test their creativity are forced to share space with those that only want to discuss the lore of Destiny. It is a widespread concern that Fanfics tend to flood Lore. There is also not a limit to quantity of writers allowed here (nor should there be one), and the results of this abundance do justify those concerned. Trending space is finite, and conflict is inherent in the nature of the current system. Fanfiction does have an audience in Lore however, that much I know first hand. Regardless, I have lost the desire to continue my Fanfic publicly. I came here with the intent to improve my writing skills, and I did achieve my goal. Yet I'm still not perfect, and will forever strive to improve. Simply put, Lore no longer feels like my path in this journey. Personally, I found frustrations with the rarity of constructive feedback to be found here. Nearly everyone who downvotes does not explain why, and it's hard to tell the difference between a dislike of Fanfic as a whole, or one that is truely focused on the individual work. In a way, it made this place feel almost empty from a writer's standpoint. There was plenty of positive interaction, and I will forever appreciate those that took the time out of their day to read my take on fiction. You all made my time here worth it. Maybe someday Lore will find balance. Maybe someday I'll once again find the desire to write and finish Biocatarus-2's story. For now, I fear neither is true. As always, thank you for your time.

Just move to reddit. I love the stuff guys but trying to find actual lore posts that are canon and seeing misleading titles (most of yall dont post the tag... if not that you post like 25 different threads at once)- seeing this stuff in LORE is annoying. Move to reddit if bungie won't accommodate. If your work is as good as you say- people will read it and bump it.

6 RepliesAnd stop tagging it in lore
-
3 RepliesThey keep posting it in destiny 2, its annoying and sounds really nerdy.
-
18 RepliesThat's why I keep my own storys for myself and make them up for movie scripts. A fan fiction can never beat the visual and sound based experience.
-
3 RepliesThat's what I try to do. And I provide a master post that has links to all my stuff.
-
2 RepliesAlso, some of it is not that great. It’s excellent so many people want to write about it, but in the same way no one wants to see me dance, maybe ask if your writing is really going to get read positively.
-
1 ReplyTheir stories are also extremely mediocre. It’s no surprise mediocrity breeds more mediocrity, I don’t know why I read them expecting excellence.
-
As long as it clearly states it’s fanfic I’m cool with it, I won’t read. It’s when it’s practically click bait you think it’s lore but it’s someone’s story.
-
20 Repliesor y'know they could just post it on fanfic.net and not clutter up the forums
-
5 RepliesWould be nice if we could get a "fan zone" part of the forums. Stuff for fan art Fan fiction and fan concepts

3 RepliesEdited by Grays_KS27: 11/13/2019 9:45:46 PMVery good advice. I recommend you make a maximum of three posts a week. Two is great. One is also very good. Write your chapters at whatever pace you want, but post them in intervals. For example, every Tuesday and Friday.

7 RepliesAs someone waiting to post their first page, it’s definitely frustrating seeing the whole forums flooded with the same fanfic 😅 I know that it would frustrate people, and it just wouldn’t catch any traction. Good to see that I made the right choice, at least.
-
36 RepliesI have never understood reading someone's else's fan fiction. Just make up your own.
-
Thank you for this. I'd like to also add something, if you want to post consistently, just write them all and release a new page every week or two as a good rule of thumb that way if you want to revise it before you post it then you have at least a week to do so.

I used to go to fan fiction.net its better to post things there to be honest. I haven't used it in a while but I did for a time
