When Are Factions Coming Back?
You See them Three people In the tower standing around and not doing anything. Yeah those are FWC,Dead Orbit,and New Monarchy. Remember when you could get your faction rank up to 25 and Get A Life Exotic Showing off to other Players who You Devoted your pledge too and spent all your time grinding for? Bungie,Please Bring back the factions so they have a purpose and Are Not just some people you look at in the tower. Grinding out factions were fun and Something to do after doing all the powerful gear things. Please upvote this so bungie see’s and we can have faction wars again

The vendors in D2 were intentionally made worthless like Amanda Holliday in order to keep items in Eververse.

I don't even see why they left in the first place. What was wrong with them in Warmind? They seemed fine for the most part. It's the same with Trials of the Nine. It could've used a few improvements, but overall it worked fine.

I always liked factions. Something moren fun to do. I miss the gear and those cool faction weapons. Dead orbit ftw!

Nevertheless, we need some kind of representation in game, even a simple bounty for weapon/armor/emblem/etc. system from the vendors would be nice.

They may look like representatives of different political and philosophical groups vying for power through our allegiance, but none of that actually shows up in game in any meaningful way so what’s the point. Maybe if factions actually mattered beyond a few reskinned weapons and a class item I never even noticed anyone wearing, but as it is now, doing anything with factions without substance would just be the usual waste of time.

I mean you’re talking about a company which effectively gutted a third of their content. Nothing was wrong with the D1 system yet they completely -blam!-ed up factions in D2.

Save your breath... Bungie does not respond to these threads. I’d love to see them back, but shite, Bungie can’t even fix that stupid old ash white screen when the game starts up., how in the hell are they going to be able to refresh the factions.

4 RepliesMake them permanent. Pledge to a faction with a character to get the legendary class item. Wearing the class item means you’ll get tokens from activities. Spend tokens for random rank up packages from the faction vendor. The old faction weapons and armour updates to random rolls. Any ornaments you’d previously had will work. Have a long but simple quest you work on (packages opened, kills with faction weapons, complete activities wearing a full set of faction amour) to unlock a cool looking exotic version of the class item (has a glow or something?). It is exotic because you can change the elemental affinity on it via an option when viewing the armour. But like D1, it doesn’t count as taking up your exotic armour slot. Do it!!!

I miss my New Monarchy exotic class item from D1. It’s a damn shame Bungie wasn’t able to do something cool with factions in D2. I’d trade Mercury, Gambit, and the Farm to have these Factions back.
