Let us buy the Obsidian Crystal from Ada
You screwed up Bungie, it’s time to own up and make amends. Although it would be nice of you, I doubt you would gift players a free Crystal at the post master.
So allow us to buy an Obsidian Crystal for Black Armory Schematics. With this solution, everyone wins. Having this currency proves to you that we have spent a ridiculous amount of time playing Black Armory for the quest. And since we all got screwed grinding for this quest to then eat our Crystal, we have plenty of said resource at our disposal.
With the absurd RNG of the rare bounty, it took some people on this forum over a month to finally get it to drop. Now that this game is free to play, it’s more imperative than ever for you to do right by the player base. Nothing will make people stop spending money on seasonal content faster than the developers taking a fat 💩 on their time and 💵.
Do the right thing here, Bungie.

Bump. This quest sucks and bungie sucks for making us rely on unforgiving RNG The “muh no handouts” people are part of the problem. You got lucky. Some of us are over 60 bounties and still have nothing. Guess it’s tike to take a huge Destiny 2 break again.

NO HANDOUTS DO IT LIKE THE REST OF US DID IT, STOP ASKING FOR FREE HANDOUTS AND CONSOLATION PRISES U ppl ar whats wrong with today gaming mentality, especially the bulk of gamer dads coming here with OMG I HAVE TO FARM ONE FULL RESET FOR THE ITEM TO DROP? SO WHAT THE HELL IF U GOTTA FARM? I famed also, 3 weeks until i got my bounty, stfu , go play or stop no one cares, BUT NO HANDOUTS!!!

9 RepliesNever understood the “ go earn it like I had to mentality” Quest was bugged for quite sometime. Bungie could have shown some good will towards the people affected but they didnt. So when op inquired about Bungie showing some good will, people get all pissed?

1 ReplyEither give us players back our lost Crystal or allow us to buy it back.... Or let us buy the rare bounty from ada. If your feeling nice you can auto complete the quest to give us the sniper for Christmas! Bottom line bungie... Just like bugs before in destiny, you have given lost loot and lost quest progress back before. It's not impossible. Do right and be kind to us that have spent months on this quest.

12 RepliesEveryone here is acting like getting the black armory rare bounty is super impossibly hard. Hint - It's not. Every 10 to 15 black armory bounties gives you at least one rare bounty. The idea to buy it from Ada seems good, but it would be unfair to those who spent hours grinding out and finishing the bounties because they had to deal with the rng of the rare bounty, but if you could just buy it from Ada it defeats the purpose of RNG and just irritates people like me who spent a good 3 hours grinding out bounties to get the rare bounty, and then another hour just to finish it. If the obsidian crystal were to cost 15 to 20 blackarmory schematics, then that would be fine or if it would cost 500 modules then that is fine. It will still encompass hard work that is harder than farming for the rare bounty but the amount of work it takes makes up for the lack of RNG.

Hey, Ive been playing almost daily since launch (took massive breaks every now and then) but basically daily since Black armory dropped aswell. Completing bounties, ect. Guess what? Still ni Rare bounty. I had the same problem in D1. Wanna know what I never got? An exotic bounty. Bungie, Im tired of being left out of endgame activities because you have top tier weapons locked behind RNG. Im not talking about normal exotics either, freaking Izanagi's, Thorn(D1 ToO). Im never invited to raids, endgame PvP, because I was handed the rations of the communities luck. I love the game but god dang, dont make top tier stuff RNG restricted like that. Its unfair.

I agree i did the whole thing turned in the crystal and then i find out hours later that it wasnt my xbox acting up or the game itself but that the quest is broken And those with keys get compensated but we who didnt know about the bug for the crystal have to redo and obtain yet again another rare bounty cmon man It was a pain to get one cuz my luck bad but cmon man Tldr: cmon man give crystals also

1 ReplyBump. I have no idea why they haven’t done this. And if not the crystal at least sell the bounty. It doesn’t even make sense in the context of the game since the blueprint for IB has already been unlocked by other Guardians. At this point what purpose does the bounty even serve? In five years playing this game this has to be the worst exotic quest from a standpoint of design and implementation in the history of the title. And I don’t say that lightly.

RNG shouldn't be involved in any quest, period. Those spider bounties where you have to sit around in a public area & wait for a boss to wander in are lame too.

Remember “Scour the Rust” quest? It says to land 10 Super final blows to earn progress, but also shows a Grenade Launcher icon, but actually progressed by earning 10 final blows with Submachine Guns. I know people would say "This quest is available since January, why haven't you complete it before?", but not every player started Y1D1, there are tons of New Light player. And Bungie probably wouldn't listen to us because they never care about what player think about their games.
