I keep editing this post to add anything new I find to help fellow guardians out. Thank you guys for the positive feedback.
Ok so if you're stuck at this part it's completely normal, but I found out from research and experience how the medals work. Here are the ones that count. And before you waste you time iron banner medals don't work.
Each of these will count for (.5% to 2%) cold fusion all the way.
PLAY MOMENTUM CONTROL FOR SCOUT RIFLE FINAL BLOWS AND FOR MEDALS. DONT FOCUS ON YOUR KD JUST FOCUS ON YOUR PROGRESS.
The medal for two kills with a smg. Don't remember the name.
Deadly cadence.
*Cold fusion - this is by far the best one. Play momentum control and use a fast charging fusion rifle. Anything under 600rpm work fantastically for me. Also you don't need to play rumble for this medal, I've heard people say that you do but I got all my medals from momentum.
Hawkeye - two hand cannon precision kills in a life.
Really any black and orange medal that involves multikills with a particular weapon.
*Annihilation - this one is weird but sometimes it's counted but other times it hasn't.
Shutdown
Double kill
Triple kill
Quad
Not sure on super kill medals unless it's a multikill.
I hope this helps.
Also check triumphs >crucible>medals>weapons for requirements.
A few other things for the other steps:
if you want to make the best progress with scout rifle final blows I suggest running a 150 archetype for your kinetic slot. you're going to use your kinetic scout rifle for your long-range engagements the reason why you use a 150 RPM is because you can one shot headshot people at any distance in momentum control. The best way to play it is 2 keep yourself at a distance from other players you want to abuse sightlines and range to your advantage.
As your secondary or energy slot you need to pair your kinetic scout rifle with a 260 RPM energy scout rifle. There are two in collections that you can get one of them is called the black scorpion and the other is the frost mere hex. Both of those scout rifles shoot in full auto and every time I came in close quarters with someone who had a recluse I was able to outshoot them using one of those scout rifles as long as you land 1 - 3 headshots. that way you have mid to long-range covered with a slow firing hard-hitting kinetic but you have your close-range covered with a fastfire and accurate scout rifle and your energy slot.
If momentum control is gone by the time you are reading this then don't stress, I have some pointers for you.
If momentum control is gone then control is your best bet for getting final blows. The reason being is that you can stay at a range away from an objective and pick off people while they are either pushing to capture or trying to defend. Like I said earlier you want to use range to your advantage. Keep the enemy far enough away from you so their damage is minimal while you smack them in the face.
Since you're not playing a form of hardcore I suggest staying away from the 150 archetype UNLESS YOURE COMFORTABLE. Personally I would use mida multi tool or you could use the following: a good rolled nightwatch ( with high caliber, rapid hit and/ or kill clip). But if you do want to use a 150 archetype I suggest Jade rabbit just because it has a solid Time to kill.
to accumulate the glory that you need most people have been saying to solo queue for comp. However I noticed that you do not get as much glory doing this. I only played two or three games of solo and I made about 180 glory. But when I played with a group even if we went up against a stack I made double that on a single win ( I did horribly btw) after one win I had 360.
Also an important thing that I feel like I should add is that you do not lose glory in this quest so you don't need to worry about losing any progress in this step.
do you have any questions or need any help I will be browsing through the comments of this post and I will try to help answer any questions you guys have I really hope this stuff helps

6 RepliesOr they can take these out of crucible all together. People playing to solely do quest steps really does mess with the flow of a match big time. Bounties should lock when entering any mode that has any competitive nature to it. Ie comp and banner.

Cold fusion medals helped greatly. Just 2 fusion kills per life.
-
So you don't have to use a scout for the medals?

Edited by Lobotomized Puppygirl: 11/8/2019 5:30:34 PMMission control is also really easy to make in momentum, guarantees a kill even if you hit their freaking neck.....
sniper problems
Thanks very helpful 👍

With Momentum control, Use Colony to get those sweet sweet double kills and calculated Trajectory medals. 2% per trajectory medal and gets you done your mountaintop as well if you haven't already.

1 ReplyNobody saying Field Scout? Its just 5 long range (well, ~50m+) Scout Rifle Kills. Eeeeeeasy.

Thanks

10 RepliesSorry for jumping on your thread man but I'm grinding out the quest for the throwing knife. I'm not a PvP player but was wondering do I only have until the end of the season to get all three requirements finished, will they reset to zero if I don't? Any tips or hints greatly appreciated ✌️

2 RepliesI have been chipping away at this quest but does anyone know how many final blows with a scout rifle it takes to get 100%? I played a match last night and got 27 kills, I made sure that I only used my scout, used my super twice and got 6 kills with it and only went up like 3%. I did read an article that said the quest may be bugged to where it advances at times and goes stale at other times, anyone else heard anything?

I do love me the sub machinist (smg) medal

3 RepliesFor cold fusion, I’ve found that you don’t get the medal if you reload the fusion between kills one and two
