Is there an official size chart for Destiny Starships?

Is anyone else really curious as to what the size of all the starships in Destiny is? Allot of people guesstimate what the sizes are of some of the ships, but outside of the traveler, and 2 cabal ships we have no idea what the scale of this universe really is. I’m especially curious as to what the cannon size of the dreadnought is, as people seem to wrongly assume it’s the size of the moon based on 1 loading screen image, whilst simultaneously ignoring dozens of other images which are far more accurate in terms of its size.

  • <No, but based on the sizes of the Hive Warship on the Tangled Shore and the Fallen Ketch compared to the player, we can assume they're around the same size as a Cabal Warship (Dantalion Exodus) or Capital Ship (The Immortal - 620 meters). The Cabal Carrier is larger than both of those but not by much, except in concept art where it's big enough to hold Imperial Land Tanks. The Traveler's Cage without extending its arms is 3620 meters in length. The Traveler itself, as you probably know by now, is about 14 kilometers. Let me just state that that means it's not visible unless you're in low orbit. It's not the size of a small Moon, it's the size of an ambitious asteroid. When it comes to the Almighty, the only real source for how big the thing is is the distance between you and its core and the end credits cutscene. In the cutscene, the Almighty is smaller than Mercury, about the same width as the Moon in this regard. This makes it the largest space station so far. The Leviathan is a mixed bag. For one thing, Nessus is REALLY small. The argument that the Vex made it bigger doesn't hold much weight because you can reach the core in a minute or two of walking around. So this 60 km ball is being eaten by something that's much bigger, but when you take into account how big the maw is and compare it to the rest of the ship, the thing really only comes out to be somewhere around 500-900 km in length with a bit over 120 in width (the maw is 120 but it does get wider over time). Like the Almighty and the Dreadnaught, in-game areas make it seems much smaller than it really is. However, unlike the Almighty and Dreadnaught, the Leviathan tries to pass itself off as much larger. In EoW when we get shot into the Argos arena, we're in the ship as deep as Nessus would be if the Leviathan tried to fit the entire thing in its maw. In SoS when we go up the spire, we're told it's the highest point... it's wrong. There's a second tower that's much taller than the Spire of Stars, but it's a little further back. It's true that we've done and seen more of the Leviathan than the Dreadnaught, but it pales in comparison. The Dreadnaught's tricky, but what you have to remember is that the measurement that it's Moon-sized is based off the orbit screen, the cinematic trailer with the (real life) comet, and a few other images, and is supported by the end credits cutscene. This does grant many inconsistencies, as the opening to the Taken King pins it as much smaller, as well as the cutscene with our ship. There's also the argument that I've seen a couple times regarding the hole in the side when viewing from orbit. However, that large hole is on the port side, making it a completely different hull breach than the one the Cabal ship did. Speaking of which, we should be able to see that very breach from quite a distance if the Dreadnaught were really that small, as we've established a normal Cabal Warship isn't much bigger than a Ketch. Hence, there's more supporting the Dreadnaught as much bigger until further notice, though it's undetermined whether "much bigger" means the size of California or the size of the continental United States. The newest addition to our collection is the small Pyramid cruiser we find under the Moon. Given where we are at the start and how long it takes to get to the entrance, well... it's about twice the size of a Cabal Warship at least. This makes it the biggest non-capital ship so far at somewhere around 1-1.5 km. Given the billion-year difference between that ship's landing and the Collapse, it's unknown whether the rest of the Pyramid Armada bears the same resemblence. Using this thing, however, the Mothership would end up being so much bigger than anticipated, easily overshadowing the Traveler and covering most, if not all, of the Last City.>

    • One billion Earth’s fit in Saturn rings. So the dreadnaught is the size of earth.

    • I wish our spaceship would respect the fundamental rules of the universe to begin with. Like the absence of air in space. I also wish proportions were kept rational. The size of the earth from the moon is so big it’s absurd. But hey, not everyone can be a dev.

https://www.destinypedia.com/Dreadnaught It is in Saturn's rings so it might be possible to measure it some how. But for me all ships look small I play on a 32inch screen LOL https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/152892451
Saturn's rings are 73,000 km wide. From the cinematic, the Dreadnaught is about 0.07 times as long, and in the same plane as the rings. That makes the Dreadnaught... 5,110km long!
3,474.2 km Earth's Moon/Diameter

          • I think someone estimated the size of the Dreadnaught by comparing it to Saturn. Around 3000km in length.
