Eververse is there because people will spend their money on things they want, regardless of cost, if they value the item enough. This seed was planted in destiny 1. Many players balked and warned of this impending outcome. While it is not “pay to play”, it does tend to turn the stomach of people wondering why these items are not available through normal gameplay. Of course the counter-argument to this point is that you can/should have saved your in-game currency for just such an occasion. I understand that stance but wonder how that presents itself to a new player.
