I have been playing the Destiny series ever since it came out and spent hundreds of dollars on it. Now they have released it for free on Steam meanwhile I paid $60 for it. The Destiny Shadowkeep expansion is $60 . I think it is outrageous to have it cost so much money. I don't have much money. You have bills, buying food, and in general living. I can't spare another $60 dollars. I would appreciate a compensation for Shadowkeep. (Steam name: ike_robot )
Update: For some reason Iit only showed up for $60, I don't know why. I looked up the DLC on Steam and it was $35. Thanks for letting me know. (Still can't really afford lol)
Another Update: I guess I can cough up a little money from work but still a lot other people still can't afford Shadowkeep. I thought I also mention DLC means Downloadable Content, I can't download $35...

7 RepliesI personally believe it is reasonably priced. If you can't afford it, either don't get it or improve your financial situation. I want a Ferrari but I think they're too expensive. Instead of going on the Ferrari forum to complain about their price I'm simply not getting one.

Shadowkeep on its own is 35$. The rest of the years worth of content plus shadowkeep is 60$. A full years worth of content plus a dlc for 60 is worth it in my opinion, but I respect your opinion if you think I’m wrong.
-
2 RepliesYeah I don't see the value. I'm standing by for a lower price.
-
Disagree I have already got my money’s worth out of SK and there’s plenty more ! It’s the best $60 I’ve spent 👍
-
12 RepliesIf you cant afford a video game, then you dont play them. These are a luxury, not something everyone gets. Entitled whiners like you make me sick. If you want to play, then get a damn job and pay like everyone else. You're not special.
-
Sure its only money. And we will all be dead soon anyway. Ps. I also do birthday parties
-
I have a full time job. Isn't unemployment low at the moment? I can afford shadow keep as a form of entertainment. I get hundreds of hours of entertainment for $35, that's a bargain compared to going to a Mariners game to watch them lose. $50+ for 3 hours of entertainment.
-
2 RepliesHas been worth hours of fun to me. Would spend 60 quid easy on coffee over a week so is a fair trade.
-
Wait till it's free, perhaps then it could be considered as value.
-
Dont buy it.
-
7 Replies$35 bucks. Currently 15 actually on steam. Its on sale lol
-
1 ReplyShadowkeep is $35 US and includes the $10 season of the undying thing. So if we're being technical, the cost of shadowkeep related content is $25
-
You mean paying for reskinned content where portions of it will go away when next season starts isn't a fair thing to have to do? You mean you knew about it and then still purchased it? Huh ....
Another Update: I guess I can cough up a little money from work but still a lot other people still can't afford Shadowkeep. I thought I also mention DLC means Downloadable Content, I can't download $35...
A lot of people can't afford a lot of things. Over the course of a few years I became friends with 3 different homeless people. I'm not talking about the street corner cardboard sign people who hop in their 2 or 3 year old car at the end of the day and drive home. I'm talking about guys that literally slept in bushes and rummaged through dumpsters of fast food joints for scraps.
I have been playing the Destiny series ever since it came out...
And I'm sure that you've put hundreds or thousands of hours in to the game in that time period. You've had the opportunity to be part of the game during all of its highs and lows. Had the chance to experience new events as they unfolded and watched as everybody learned how to handle those new things. Your post reeks of entitlement when you should be thankful that you not only have had the opportunity to be able to afford the game but also the ability to afford whichever platform/platforms you play it on. With the maturity level this forum shows at times I'm honestly surprised at the rarity of this type of post since it went f2p.

Forsaken was worth that much. Shadowkeep is almost the same price and is a pile of shit in comparison. No new supers, a reused location with a couple new equally boring areas, only three armor pieces, and a heavy focus on Eververse.!
-
Wow. Better stand by the yellow brick road and watch for Dorothy and the Tinman... cause you need a brain, son.
-
I have a hard time paying$35 when you,can get full games that, have been out for a month or two for 29. I am waiting for it to go on sale, it may not destiny is slow,to do sales compared to other games.

To be fair, the first big expansion of both Destiny’s so far has proven much more expansive than the second so it’s clearly a system. TTK brought more content than we knew what to do with as well as constant content additions while ROI added quite a lot as well. However ROI didn’t have quite as much although still a sustainable amount of content as well as the old raids being brought up to appropriate LL. Forsaken brought an unbelievable amount of content and there’s probably some that I still haven’t done yet. It was extremely ambitious and was well worth the money. Shadowkeep costs less I believe and as a result of being the second big expansion has less content than forsaken although still a reasonable amount. The raids are also capable of dropping gear appropriate to our LL so that’s a bonus but I do wish that it could constitute as a powerful drop instead of maybe even pinnacle. I suppose only time will tell if SK was worth it, it may be too soon to judge.

I can't afford to get a new car. That doesn't mean they're all too expensive. It means I'm poor 🤷🏾♀️

Downvoted for elitism
-
1 ReplyThat’s 60 dollars including all the seasons so you’ve essentially paid 60 for the year, pretty sure Shadowkeep itself is only 15 or 20 dollars
-
It's worth about 4.99, all re skinned trash anyway.
-
3 RepliesIt’s $35, first off. However, I do agree that $35 is way too much. We get, what, a Raid, two hours worth of story missions, and one or two Exotic quests? The Moon is free to wander, the Strikes are free, the Crucible maps are free, all vendors give Armor 2.0. Season Pass gives Vex Offensive plus new armor set plus ornaments (if you are able to unlock them) and two new Exotic quests. Yeah, I’ve dropped all the money I will put into Destiny. The content is as overpriced as Eververse’s stuff. I’ll stay for the seasons I’ve already paid for, but that’s it for me.

1 ReplyNot Bungie’s fault you can’t make enough money. It’s called a luxury not a necessity. Learn the difference
-
6 RepliesI'm honestly surprised people didnt see this coming. The minute bungie announced their going semi free to play I knew they abandoned their playerbase. First the event that drained players of their bright dust stock piles, then they nerfed bright dust gains, took away the rank up engram and the dust from dismantle. Raised prices and went free to play, a monkey could see this isnt a mistake it's by design.
