How to Solo Wishender, some lessons in convoluted questdesign

At this point in Destinys lifecycle, why should you even care about a bow whose special power is shooting eggs? The shattered throne is destiny at it's best, especially when you try to solo it. For one year I never managed to get past vorgeth, so the road to wishender was blocked. Last week I finally slaughtered the ogre, at first I thought this would be the hardest part. But now I am convinced that the hardest part is the eriviks token. When you read up guides, all these minibosses sound easy to slay, because most people attempt this in a fire team. Hers is how the orbs work as a soloplayer Grabbing an orb , carrying it to a statue and slaying the respected boss are one full cycle, meaning if you die on the way to the statue or in the fight with the miniboss, you start as if you never attempted it. So for every dreaming token this is the best strat for all 3 encounters if you want to solo them 1.token of querim: Kill querim immediately after entering the dungeon. Just run past the first boss, turn left and then in the open area where the shadow thralls spawn, turn right, scale the cliffs on top of the building, and transport the orb to the statue. 2.token of eriviks Do the part with the ogres on the high beams normally, just ignore the orb and get a respawn point in front of the part where your health generation is not working, practice the run if you are not familiar with it, until you feel comfortable. Crimson is your best friend, this weapon makes it really easy to stay alive. Even if you are carrying the orb, you can switch to crimson for a few seconds to get your health back if you are wounded, just keep the orb near you, otherwise it might reset. So after having made it I jumped down and activated the statue. The door beyond the chasm will open, but If you get killed inside, you will respawn with a closed door, with no other option to reach the orb in on the high beams, you will have to do the whole dungeon from start. 3.token of XAVOTH A Bubble titan is imo required for soloing this section on console. After slamming the orb you have roughly 30 seconds of time to a)find the invisible minotaur b)slay him c) find the orb (it will not directly spawn where the minotaur died, but somewhat nearby d) finding the right statue to slamdunk the orb (this is where you need the bubble for survival) e) all the while the boss will target you with truth-like seeking dearthorbs Then the new round of enemies will spawn and make your life living hell, and your not done yet, the second ogre (xavoth) will add additional deathrays and will have a larger area where he roams around. I really don`t klnow how i managed to stay alive during that part, good luck, guardian ;-)

  • At this point in time it might be utterly impossible to get the wishender quest done, at least solo. After a month long hiatus I attempted another solo run to get the Eriviks token. Some adds spawned in the room, then they disappeared after I engaged them. Then the boss spawned and literally in 3 second he vanished . I was not able to respawn him , tried everything, the glowing orb was still in the last statue, the doors to the room remained open. What a disappointment!

  • Me and a friend actually did it last night - we got the Wish-Ender! Nothing fancy I guess, we’re not hardcore in any way, but damn that felt good to accomplish! :) Hope you get yours! <3

  • I feel you. Shattered Throne is sooo cool, but with friends either playing on PC (I’m on PS4), or don’t have the patients with puzzles and the fact that some encounters is actually demanding - I’m still not past the Ogre. At 965 Light I thought it would be a breeze. I was so wrong.

    • What platform are you on? I could help a bit sometime if you're on ps4.

Good tip on the first one. That's the strategy I used. Definitely kill the first Token Boss before clearing Erebus anyway; if you get the checkpoint first he won't spawn. The second one is a pain. If you've got a Titan and you fail here you can use Thundercrash to 'missile' from the top of one of the statues back over the balcony to the Thrall Hall and retrace your steps to retrieve the relics. All the enemies will be gone so it's much easier. Just don't fall off the beams when placing the relic there or you will lose it. The second Token Boss will despawn if you leave that centre platform to regain health so you have to kill him first time, but it is doable with a super/Machine gun combo. Once you complete a Boss and charge a token you don't have to do that boss again. I ended up doing all of mine on separate weeks. Finally if you think it's hard solo on the first 2 you ain't seen nothing yet. The final one requires you to kill a knight that appears after killing all 4 Wizards and dunking the petition buff orb in the well to take down the ogre's shield, picking up the relic he drops, placing it in a statue. . . which then summons a second ogre. Then you have to kill everything in the room. Without dying. Seriously, find a team. And good luck!
