is there a way to go back a checkpoint? (may contain spoilers)
ok, stupidty plays a bit roll here, and spoilers may be present.
So I was doing the last mission on heroic, when I got past the firefight point and I was going up to the MAC gun. I got a checkpoint inside the room near the MAC gun, but with 3-4 elites at a fair distance with no cover or freinds for backup, I was having a tough time fighting them and died maybe 10 times before having an idea, "hey, why not run to the MAC gun and just shoot down the cruiser?"
I thought that the elites would be ignored if I did this and that the phantoms would be the only problem, but it turned out I was wrong, on my run up there the fuel rod cannon holder followed me and I got a checkpoint at the MAC gun, just before I get in.
now I'm stuck.
If I get in the cannon, I make it as far as shooting down the 3rd or 4th phantom, but by then all the damage from the banshees and other phantoms has bought my shield down to about half, and the fuel rod cannoner just kills me with 2-3 shots, and I cant do much about it. If I go to kill the cannoner, which I have only done once, I get rewarded by finding 6 or 7 phantoms at the MAC gun that blow me apart as soon as I jump in. I'm also asuming that you cant shoot down the cruiser straight away, as I tried that the first time on normal difficulty and couldnt do it, either that or you need increadibly precise aim.
for those TL;DR's:
-----The problem-----
Stuck on the last part of the last mission on campaign, heroic, dont feel like playing the mission all over again really. I need a way I can either:
-shoot down the cruiser before the first few phantoms come
-Increadbly fast way of dealing with fuel rod elites.
-a way to revert to a diffrent checkpoint
or something simular.
any replies would be nice, I am also asuming it wont count if I start at point alpha bravo e.c.t.

Just took an agressive tone to the mission and just got folks need heroes ^^ thanks again

All you have to do is: -Kill the Fuel Rod Elite -Hide underneath staircase where phantoms can't shoot you -Wait for Holland/someone to say the cruiser is in range -jump on mac cannon and aim at the cruiser immediately, it should work, although you may have too many phantoms, then you're SOL

Keep reverting to the last checkpoint until you go back one.
