Falsely Banned. Need Help or Answers.

Ever since the Cross-Save feature came to Steam. This game has been a train wreck for me. A couple things. -NAT TYPE issues (game says its open, still get empty towers, cant find anyone in crucible) -Consistent Crashing/Freezing, I attempted a fix, a fourm suggested deleting GeForce Experience, this sort of helped my problem. (Yes. I forwarded ports) -Ryzen 2700X -GTX 1080Ti SC2 -Corsair Vengence 3000MHZ (4x8gb) -Samsung NVME M.2 1TB -General FPS issues within the game. (especially on some strikes) This game has been a pain for me to play on PC, but I have tried to push through it with my 61 Hours logged on Steam. Last night I was told that the hand cannon I had received from a drop was REALLY GOOD for my hunter (Duke mk44? with Kill Clip). I flew to the EDZ to test it out on a few Fallen enemies. My game froze after I ALT-TAB to message my friend in Discord to ask if he wanted to play crucible. I shook my mouse around, pressed keys, task manager, etc. Nothing worked or responded. Restarted my PC, then booted again. Played inside of the Crucible and I was receiving FPS issues, soon to eventually crash. I shut my PC down, and went to work. I get on today and I am greeted with the banned message? I am lost on how I could have been banned? I have a couple speculations, but as far as I know. I am permanently banned, and would like to know why at the very least. -Consistent leaving of Crucible matches (crashing/NAT TYPE issues I assume) -Destiny 2 DID NOT LIKE something in my background -I play Risk of Rain 2 and Beat Saber often, I have custom mods on, which involves an injector. Screenshot is the folder of said mods for a complete different games. It possibly could have detected them (Beat Saber's is usually on/open on boot to check for updates)(folders to the right of it are specific mods that if I want to put into the game, I drag into the other folder) I also have Custom Mods installed on the following... -Borderlands 2 -Slay The Spire -Enter The Gungeon -Left for Dead 2 -And custom maps on games like CSGO, Speedrunners, Move or Die, Age of Empires III, etc. I download a large majority of my mods/maps/hacks for those games from but not only... -https://www.mpgh.net/ (General link for mods/hacks that I cannot find on places below) -https://thunderstore.io/ (Risk of Rain 2 mods/hacks) -I received the Beatsaber client from a GitHub link. A website with hacks/mods for all sorts of games. However, NEVER have I downloaded something for Destiny 2. I understand that it is a competitive online game across both PVP + PVE. A triple A game. I understand that it is literally suicide to try to go against an Anticheat system placed in this game. I do not know how I would be reported in crucible also. I am an OK player with an occasional good play or two. I see a lot of other users that got banned from the game and claim they are innocent. As much as I do not know their story. Some might actually be legitimately innocent. However I am not a member on the security team @Bungie so I cannot say. I am currently at a loss of words for this game, and would like some sort of an answer or log that shows why I was banned or when I could have been reported.

I am currently at a loss of words for this game, and would like some sort of an answer or log that shows why I was banned or when I could have been reported.

There are 3 types of punishments for Destiny/Bungie. Bans, Restrictions and Suspensions. LEARN THE DIFFERENCE. BANS are permanent and apply to the whole game. The message usually says: "NOT SO FAST! This account has been banned." And looks like this http://imgur.com/gallery/Tw7g7Jg RESTRICTIONS are temporary. The message usually says: "RESTRICTED! This account is temporarily restricted from _______." And looks like this http://imgur.com/gallery/st40PuU If it is your 1st RESTRICTION it's USUALLY 2 weeks. If it is your 2nd RESTRICTION it's USUALLY 2 months. RESTRICTIONS can stack on each other, usually due to the severity and frequency of multiple reports overtime. So 2 weeks AND 2 months, so to most players there won't be a 2nd splash screen and the RESTRICTION ends later than expected. RESTRICTIONS USUALLY end during the reset of that week and not the day of. If you have had 2 prior RESTRICTIONS a 3rd penalty can either be a much longer RESTRICTION or a lifetime RESTRICTION from Crucible and Gambit or a full on lifetime BAN from the entire game. SOMETIMES you will be given a splash screen that looks like this http://imgur.com/gallery/GpYKBGG warning you of an issue so you can fix it before a restriction is placed. In-Game Gambit/Competitive Crucible SUSPENSIONS are only 30-60mins and placed AUTOMATICALLY if you leave too many games in a short time span for ANY reason. Whether it be a ddos, error code or power outage. The message usually says: "TIME OUT! You left a ______ match before it was complete…." And looks like this for Competitive and Gambit http://imgur.com/gallery/stqxYIj They WILL NOT respond or message you. They WILL NOT tell why a punishment was issued. EDIT: [Recently (as of June 28/2019) SOMETIMES BNGSecurity will give a general reason why the punishment was placed. They look like this http://imgur.com/a/mdFAQ1A] They don't have to. They don't care. Loyalty. Time played. Content purchased. Gear earned. When you started. Intent. Threats. Begging. It is all irrelevant. They make the rules. We have to follow them. Break them and they penalize you. There is NO course of action to appeal any punishment issued. They WILL NOT lessen or remove any punishment issued for any reason. They've had this no tolerance policy since Day 1 of D1. It won't change anytime soon. The reasons most ppl have a punishment issued to them is: For some form of cheating (ddossing, afk farming). Playing with cheaters (paying for a carry, sharing account info, or staying in a lobby with a cheater for too long and benefiting from their illegal actions). Or having consistently terrible internet connection that it affects OTHERS players and not just yourself. You may be playing fine. But to others you may appear as an unkillable red-bar. For most PC tagalongs: They are banned because SOMETHING installed on your PC (ACTIVE cheats for D2 or other games can trigger this) was viewed as a POTENTIAL threat to D2 and those are PROMPTLY BANNED. The process for BANS and RESTRICTIONS involve reports coming in from players or their flag system towards an individual. The Bungie monkey at HQ reviews it. And they decide if it was warranted or not.
You probably got reported for lag a lot of times due to your NAT issues, and not forwarding ports. Then they investigated and saw injection/cheat programs in the log. This lead to them banning you. I believe the same happened to my brother.

  • I dont understand exactly what would stop me from creating a new Steam account? I dont quite understand the entire reason why they do not revoke bans. Look as CSGO's prime matchmaking. If you dont have Prime ($15), you play free to play. Once FTP players get banned for cheating, its only 5-10 minutes away from doing it again. Because it is free. Whats so different about Bungie's anticheat + FTP game now on Steam?

    • If your computer is full of mods and cheats for other games, as you say, you probably had one running in the background when you opened Destiny 2. Even if you did not direct it to target D2, Bungie can detect it in the background, and probably issued a ban for it. If you make a new account, make sure nothing that can read, modify, or influence game files is running, and try to close everything you can before playing

      • Doesn’t matter if the hack isn’t for D2, the anti cheat will pick up on it when it’s running while D2 is running. When a hack is activated, even if you exit out of it, it’ll still run in the background.

        • Typically, pc bans are due to software detected by Destiny 2 while running. These include but not limited to, trainers, aimbots, auto-fire, mods, graphics hacks, anything that injects code into games, debuggers for programing, even some viruses. any of these could cause a ban, even if not destiny 2 specific Restrictions are temporary, and will not be overturned or undone before they expire. Once an account is banned however, that ban is permanent. Account restrictions and bans are only done in extreme cases; if actions were taken against your account, then it was with reason. There are NO options to dispute or overturn account restrictions or bans. Bans are lifetime for that account https://twitter.com/Bungie/status/1179836392953675776 <- Most recent info bans and restrictions policy page
We do not ban players for simply having cheat tools installed, but do ban for running them while playing Destiny 2. We do not differentiate between cheat tools for Destiny 2 and cheat tools for other games because it would be easy to avoid a ban by making a Destiny 2 cheat tool that pretends to be a cheat tool for another game. Make sure you turn all cheat tools off before running Destiny 2 and you won’t have to worry about bans.
(source) *I am not a Bungie representative, just a player trying to give the answers that are available.
