Something I noticed a long time ago but I thought may have already been known. For whatever reason, unlike any other melee ability, when Claws of the Ahamkara are paired with the Attunement of Fission melee (ideally one of its better pairs given it has higher damage than a standard melee and regens abilities) it uses both charges simultaneously. Assuming one charge is in regen while the other is active it does keep the partial charge, but when both are fully charged, both are used at once.
Side note: This exotic could use a buff of some sort. Maybe like, melee kills grant melee energy would be cool. As warlock doesnt have a melee-centric class like either titan or hunter, I feel like the exotics they have for melee are greatly underpowered in comparison to the other classes. Theres never really a good use for claws of the ahamkara as there is nothing to pair with that it suits particularly well, and winters guile only really synergizes with devour.

Really Claws was at its peak back in D1 when Warlocks had a shield melee on sunsinger, thing ate face and was really only rarely used due to being stuck in RAMS shadow when it came to meta popularity. In D2 I usually use it for atunement of Control for double projectile melee's on Warlock, or Atunement of Grace for Damage support and ability regen feeding. Also pretty sure this isn't the only melee tree bugged. Pretty sure all of voidwalker tree does it since I've had devour use both charges before like with your situation with Fission melee.

Noticed this today. Will either completely consume the second charge on a single hit, or will drain down to 1/3rd a recharge if you have one hit and a partial charge. Really sucks, as this would pair beautifully with Fission

i stopped using them as they did not seem to work very well at all. perhaps it was the hit/non-hit registration. Every time i would melee someone in pvp, it either missed entirely, or hit and did nothing. sometimes no charges would go off, other times they would both disappear. never had a good experience with them.

Claws are literally the best and only auto reload exotic since they nerfed the rest and you want a buff?! smh

Now if it also did double damage when it burned the melee charges, that might be something. You could one hit in crucible whenever both charges were up.

Yeah claws also need to grant greande energy on hit and could stack with impact induction

These gloves have a history of being extremely wonky with how it treats it's double melee charge. There was a glitch back in D1 when you used the extended melee with Stormcaller it would use both charges and only one would ever recharge, making the "2 melee charge" perk essentially useless. So since it's a long standing bug, I doubt it'll ever be fixed. :)

Wow wtf lol. I'm glad you provided the visual evidence for this. I haven't tested it yet but I wanted to try a max Strength Warlock with Claws and play around with the subclass perks. I guess Fission is off the list.
