New Raids are too mechanic heavy

D2 raids are/have become too mechanics heavy and any one thing could cause a wipe including glitches. It would be nice if we had an assortment of raids where some were less mechanics heavy. Not fun to bring new ppl in because everyone has to have the mechanics down 100%. For example, more raids like kings fall and wotm, less raids like gos and sos. Focused team mechanics and less sub teams doing different mechanics. Also the armor drop rate in GoS is terrible!

  • I must agree ,coming from not much of a raider . the ones I have done RON and Crota end boss only ,was just to many mechanics to enjoy it ,yes we did it with the help of a pro raider ,but thats asking a lot when he prob just wanted to finish it . Bungie why not make 2 raids one with mechanics galore and the mirror image with light mechanics for match making and for players to learn it would make much more sense then go hard mechanics and thats it tough luck if you never do a raid because of it.

  • Iam of the opossite opinion. I loved the raid.. No carries, every member of the fireteam needs to know their part, well unless you're gladd lol The divinity quest was fun, plenty of stupidity with friends.. My only biggest complain is the fps drops on playstation, as well as the motes dissapearing, that's pretty much all. Will probably run it much more when I get the chance

  • While some ppl like standing a plates and shooting symbols or stand in place in a line, or throwing a ball around for 45 mins.. I find that incredibly boring. It also results in the encounter being completed the exact same way every damn time. Bigger yawn.. Raids have been a mess since Kings Fall. Just bloated and really pointless.

    • I disagree. I’ve played through the raid and the first 3 encounters are fairly simple to understand; 1. Hot potato leapfrog 2. Hold plates with 2 runners refreshing buff. 3. Gambit team and boss team. Gambit team kills Minotaurs for motes and deposits them in conflux needing a total of 30, boss team follows him around and shoots correct eyes. Then finally damage phase. 4. Almost broken by tether mechanic. The raid itself isn’t too mechanic heavy, it’s just the main mechanic (tether) is finicky and seems to have a mind of its own. Hopefully this will be ironed out, but I’m not holding out much hope, given all work atm will be on festival of the cost. TLDR; The raid is fine, mostly.

      • Not really the first 2 encounters of garden are straightforward It’s basically leap frog and relay race I think the only raid encounter that’d be hard with mechanics is liger fighting riven But other then that raids aren’t that bad with mechanics

        • D1 Raids be like 1. Defend Vex from Sacrificing 2. Kill Captain get scorch cannon throw ball at boss 3. kill swordbearer grab sword take down boss and dps 4. Hop on plate get buff switch buff to other player D2 Raids be like 1. Get Buff, kill Ads, Take shield down, Get another buff, Figure out square root of 69, kill firemembers adds and there shields, Switch again, go into 3 doors with 6 fireteam members but only 1 member per door, look at ancient egyptian heiroglyphics and figure out king tuts legacy and run into the tree and stairs part to kill the captain to read more symbols So i understand where this guy is coming from lol

Eater of Worlds Scourge of the Past Crown of Sorrow Garden Of Salvation If you wan't moderate mechanics play Leviathan Last Wish Spire of Stars If you're looking for mechanic heavy raids. There are none. Raids are easy if you have common sense.

                  • If they were worth more then just running them for the sake of running them, I would try them out. I haven't found 1 reason to run any of them especailly the new one that got the hand me downs from Tess.

                      What? Kingsfall was one of the most mechanic heavy Raids. And this is what the Raid community wanted, less shooting, more focus on team play. A unjque experience, because if I just wanna shoot stuff, I play strikes. Nearly every encounter here had several people running around doing different things (sub teams), and that never changed. Not even in all of D2's Raids/Lairs. Even though people, mostly the casuals or once-in-a-year Raid people, constantly complained about it that they can't kill Oryx etc. I'm all against light versions of Raids if you receive the same rewards. Dedicate the time to master the Raids, or simply don't play them. You should proof that you can master both, your gun and your brain, to complete an actual challenge. Raids in Destiny are already very simple enough if you practice, so I see no reason to water them down.

                      • The last raids I enjoyed was vog and crota, I don’t bother anymore due to the reasons you state and the lack of optional matchmaking.

                        • I can agree, in this past week I have (no joke) done WOTM on D1 three times (soon to be a fourth when the weekly reset happens so I can actually get loot) and I've tried levitathan Atleast 5 times and always get stuck on the gauntlet Idk if it's cause my team is bad or what but D1 raid mechanics weren't that hard tbh, the only part that is challenging for me in WOTM is siege machine but 4 out of 5 times, we have someone who does the glitch where they pick up the parts and run at normal speed

                          • Well you can always just give the new player a heads up on mechanics? “Grab the white stuff the boss spits out” “Stand next to the box in the sky and shoot it” “Pick up the taken strength” Really it’s not rocket science it just takes someone to literally give them a heads up about the mechanic before it starts lol...

                            • Im assuming you haven’t played Garden or Kings Fall, since Garden’s difficulty is so easy that on some encounters like the 2nd and 4th you can actually mess up and still succeed
