ideas on bow buffs in crucible. I like bows a lot burr it angers me to just get three bursted before i can even draw my second shot. I just feel they are non existent and have no real redeemable factor to make me chose it over another weapon. The exotics also feel terrible( except leviathans breath) there perks don't really help in crucible nor pve. any ideas or rebuttals just wanna know the feedback on bows...

With the current ttk there’s not much you can do to bows without making them broken.

ideas on bow buffs in crucible. I like bows a lot burr it angers me to just get three bursted before i can even draw my second shot.
You're not using them properly, its not a "guns blazing" weapon that you can run around with and expect to beat people. bows are all about being strategic, bouncing in and out of cover and choosing lanes wisely, along with choosing a backup weapon in case people get too close, look at my loadout if you want an example bow tactics to learn : 1:jumping with a bow on hunter doesn't reset the draw, this can make you extremely unpredictable and outplay TONS of people, mostly i use this on snipers or when I'm being pushed 2: full draw then tap reload and as fast as you can draw again, it shouldnt reset its draw time if done properly, also, one shot plus melee is like shotgun kill speed in a tight situation 3:prefiring your shot and arcing the arrow by aiming a little above your target is a great way to turn a loss into a trade, this is probably the hardest to learn 4: explosive head
grabs you assists and makes your kda look good, can grab you unexpected kills, and I've heard that they disturb your opponets aim. and it looks cool.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: bows are kinda op when you draw behind cover, pop out and shoot, repeat. this is how to engage guns that would kill you before you draw again, stay aware of where your team is so they can support you if you get pushed, another thing is bows are very strong flanking weapons because they do a ton of damage per shot.. just pick people off like it's open season while their busy staying within 1 hit ko health range because they fighting your team..... tldr: bows are a high skill high reward weapon. basically git gud.

1 ReplyI usually do well with my bow in crucible but As a fellow pvp bow user it is a labor of love sometimes as a mida-multi tool kills so fast. Also snipers can one shot me but a fully drawn headshot across the map doesn’t. It sucks but I doubt they are gonna fix it.

8 RepliesEdited by Seraphim Crypto: 10/27/2019 9:22:05 AMQuestion: what do you imagine as a buff for Bows in the Crucible? For me as a player, I think Bows are fine the way they are. They are specialist weapons which require skill to properly use. I'm not really creative when it comes to buffs, but the first thing I would think of would be a damage buff. Personally I wouldn't like that for two reasons: 1. Bows that one-shot would be hard to combat against. You can already one-shot through certain scenarios, being buffed by Ward of Dawn, Well of Radiance or Damage Rift for example, and those are very powerful options. I had matches where teams supported each other with Damage Rifts and they used Lé Monarque, and you died guaranteed when they were hit in the head with it. 2. Damage Buff which doesn't make the Bow one-shot is useless. Which leads to another buff, a buff to draw time and/or reload speed. That buff might help a little bit, but you can already buff draw time through Masterwork and perks. A Bow with Archer's Tempo is strong in PvP if you use it correctly, the Gambit Pinnacle Bow Hush is brutal when you get it's ability activated. So, Tl;dr? Personally, I think Bows are fine the way they are. There isn't much room for improvement. Just got to make those shots count and pre-draw prior to a fight. EDIT: Jist a disclaimer that I am not a Bungie Employee and do not work at Bungie.

1 ReplyEdited by killa beaver: 10/27/2019 2:52:47 PMBows are honestly absurdly strong, but..... the play style requires you to hug cover most of the game. The ability to have 40+ shots of 150dmg is unparalleled at the moment. Paired with a QuickDraw SMG and you can smack just about anyone, the only real disadvantage is the lack of damage output to takeout supers.

4 RepliesEdited by ZeroSix: 10/28/2019 1:01:23 PMBows are absolutely fine, but require a boring degenerate playstyle. Most expect this amazing mobile bow playstyle like you are Legolas from LotR, but thats not how it is. They have very very fast ttks when using swap builds, but have the punishment of not having good options when pushed.

Bows are a secret sauce They need no buffs
-
Quick access sling on bow coupled with Ace or Duke (hard hitting hand cannon). One bow shot, swap, one HC shot = dead Guardian. Got my first and only we ran medal with that combo. So much fun.
-
Get the enhanced bow noching perk on the artifact. Try to get a bow with a draw time masterwork and/or archer's tempo. These things help alot with using bows in PvP.
-
Smuggler’s word and energy slot bows make a good combo.
-
Spiteful Fang Eriana's vow Hand Cannon Dexterity or Lucky Pants Shoot with the bow, immediately swap to Eriana, clean them up. Even if you body with Eriana, you'll still kill as long as you HS with the bow.
-
1. Equip Le Monarque 2. Equip Duke with Rampage 3. Equip Lucky Pants 4. Shoot someone once with Monarque 5. One tap cleanup with Duke 6. You now have Rampage and can two tap people Thank me later.

1 ReplyI love le monarch in crucible. I use it with my hunter middle tree void. Crouch and get headshots from behind cover...then go invisible with truesight. It works very well when your working with your team. You just pop in and out of cover while your teammates rush and it works wonders. You also can use the exotic that the hunter has for bows(forgot the name) so you can hold the charge forever.

Bows are for peak shooting I'd just give them a longer time to shoot arrows at full draw as well as making them not decrease movement speed when having it drawn.

Bows rn are a very skill based gun type what I think it needs is more archetypes and very different exotics and unique perks like different arrows heads or arrows that are hitscan

1 Replybow are TRASHHHHHHHHHHHH
-
Did you ever go against somebody in comp that REALLY knows how to use a bow? It's nuts. The second you get out of cover you're one shot. I fought this guy and there wasn't much I could do against him. So next game I get my Lemon Arc and now I'm going to be that guy in comp. Got destroyed. Bows are great in the right hands. I think a buff would be too much.

5 RepliesYesterday i was owned by Subtile Calamity. Two shot kill.

Bows feel very balanced enough especially in Pvp, so I feel like any change to buff them will only end with them being nerf to shit.
-
There’s a reason bows have not been the weapon of choice for over 100 years. Bows did wreck during the time of the -blam!- empire.
-
Very niche. Much meh.
-
Use le monarque is good and annoying
-
Bows are probably the highest skill ceiling weapon the game has to offer. Maybe I'm biased, but I felt like I've improved as a player so much since I've started maining le monarque.
-
They need generally faster draw/reload time. That’s the most annoying thing about bows. I shouldn’t be forced to use a single perk (Archer’s tempo) and always get head shots just so I get something that makes more usable.
