Aside from Triumph points and Clan XP 500 to be exact the Heroic Story Mission playlist has no purpose just a throw away activity, no planetary materials, no legendary engram drop, no bright dust or 'bright' nostalgic engram drops, legendary shards, modular upgrades, etc. A pointless activity in a sea of pointless activites, heroic Adventures now giving squat after completion, the revamped Nightmare Lost Sectors missed opportunity. Bring back the D1 system for Heroic Story Missions, say for a first clear 100 Legendary Shards, one Bright engram or 100 Bright Dust, and one Modular Uprgade. And for three runs after that 50 Legendary Shards or 50 Bright Dust alongside Clan XP. Better yet since Amanda Holliday holds the Legacy Story missions, make her a Bounty vendor, two weekly bounties to 'Clear' an entire Story campaign playthrough on Heroic for the rewards stated above and five miscellanous bounties for materials or a token amount of bright dust like 10 or 20.

I agree. At the very least, you should be able to scale the difficulty and get better rewards the harder you make it. As it stands now, there's no incentive.

4 RepliesRight there with patrols, random chests, adventures, lost sectors, public events, and regular strikes. It's sad that the majority of the game is just "two tokens and a blue." Doesn't even have to be gear rewards for story missions. Could be something else, but Destiny 2 has always lacked variety in rewards. Always been either "powerful gear" or just auto-dismantle junk.

1 ReplyHonestly, a Bright Engram from the first Heroic story clear on each character a week would be REALLY nice and actually motivate some people to do them. Heroic Adventures should reward 200 bright dust upon first completion on each character a week. Think of it as the 'weekly bounty' of that planetary vendor. Lost Sectors are becoming more and more obsolete as time goes on. Y1 they were in a solid spot. Rewarding enough to do. Y2 they became a bit more irrelevant, blues and a chance at a legendary is really not much worth your time. Y3? They literally just give you a small heap of glimmer with a chance at a rare or legendary reward. Don't even grant planetary materials anymore...

Had little reason to run one before Shadowkeep and the changes since its release insure that I’ll never run one ever again. Not to mention the utter uselessness of Powerful drops once you reach “Forever 950”.

1 ReplyI think they invested a lot of energy into those heroic missions and then realized that most people were skipping that as a powerful reward. Thats why they dont have rewards tied to them anymore- ppl did not want to spend time doing those.

I never did them only a few with clan while we were working on weekly stuff.

It's just an option for players to have. Entire campaigns can now be replayed that don't grant meaningful rewards.

Didn't they say we could replay the New Light intro mission when it rolls into the playlist? Still haven't seen it since day 1. Pretty disappointed. But yeah, the playlist is pointless along with everything else when you're 950 base.

Speaking of pointless, is there any point in doing any other nightmare hunt besides the Master difficulty that gives you pinnacle? I don’t see a difference from 860 to 950

Here it is.... Nightmare heroic story mission. All enemies nightmare versions. Change the modifier each day. More explosive environment stuff. Powerful reward. Or, put difficulty levels on it for a pinnacle piece. Master sector or something like that.
