Cayde is dead. He has been for a while now. With no strong leader to turn too, Hunters feel lost. Their order is almost in ruin. They may follow the orders of Zavala and Ikora, with the good intent of the city at heart, but how could a warlock and a Titan understand what it means to be a hunter? Warlocks have their noses buried in books and magic, Titans just want to punch things. A hunter balances wit, dexterity, and slyness. Matched with a good bow and hand cannon. How long can this order go on without a strong, capable leader to look up too? Who will rise up?

2 RepliesHow dare you!!! You forgot about our lord and leader .... Sir Clucksalot
-
3 RepliesThe Colonel, because what better to represent hunters than a chicken?
-
4 RepliesWell maybe if one of you lazy good-for-nothing Hunter's volunteered to take Cayde's spot we wouldn't have this problem. But NOOOOO, the wilds are where hunters belong 🤪

I’m voting Donald Trump. ‘I got a job fer yah. It’ll be bewdiful, best ever, all the guns...and all the bulitz...in Old Chiynah!’

2 RepliesJudging by the whole Hunter Vanguard Dare system and who killed Cayde it's likely to be Uldren Sov especially now that he's been made a guardian.

Big show

2 RepliesYou make some valid points and I agree that Eververse should be removed from the game, but whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

I’m the leader now ;)

Uovote for The Colonel

Hunters never struck me as city bois. Not having a leader couped up in a wall all day kinda fits with the whole idea of being a hunter.

4 RepliesI'd like it to be Efrideet. Since RoI we ain't seen her.

2 RepliesIf we even get a new hunter Vanguard, my vote’s on Marcus Ren.

3 RepliesHawthorne basically coordinates the City's scouts in Cayde's absence.

4 RepliesEdited by Grays_KS27: 10/25/2019 9:16:33 PMThe Hunter are fine. They really never cared that much about the Hunter Vanguard. XD

1 ReplyIt’s been a little over a year. That may seem like a long time to us, as our Guardian was canonically resurrected five years ago, but we are young and don’t have the wisdom of age to know any better. Consider the Guardian’s in Destiny’s lore, many of whom are still kicking about in the Tower and elsewhere, who were resurrected hundreds of years ago. One year is a short time to them. And compared to a figure like Oryx, whose lifespan across his various incarnations is measured in the millions of years... don’t be impatient, young guardian / (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)

1 ReplyEdited by Spooky_Ari: 10/26/2019 12:26:00 AMWhat do you mean Hunters are lost, they are and want to be alone to begin with. They're scouts. The Hunter Vanguard job is just busy work being stuck in the Tower that Hunters dislike, that's why there is the Vanguard Dare because nobody wants to do the job and it has to be settled by a losing bet. Hell, even Ikora says that the Hunter's would've likely been eliminated if they didn't decide to appoint a leader in the Tower.

6 Replies[My bets on shiro-4 in all likelihood, all we need to do is find him.]

Hunters once went 2 years with their vanguard missing before deciding that he was probably dead, I think they’ll be fine

5 RepliesTechnicly, Uldren Sov is the next hunter vangaurd.

1 ReplyWho honestly cares? The story doesn’t impact gameplay and the content is too thin and recycled to have any emotional investment. You might as well make the next Hunter Vanguard a sweeper bot and it wouldn’t make a difference.

Skywalker will rise

Remember that time the Hunter Vanguard went M.I.A.? Then after two years they decided to assume he was dead. Then the Hunters were left to sort things out. Then, eventually, Cayde and Andal got very drunk and decided to make a Dare. Yeah, there’s no hurry to replace the Hunter Vanguard. But if you want to speed things up, hire Taniks to kill some Hunters, then give the rest some alcohol. They’ll take care of the rest.

8 RepliesThink you’re overstating the Hunters need for a Vanguard. You’re forgetting their independent streak. Coordinating Hunters comes down to seeing who is around and can be convinced to do something. If there was a real need one of them would step up.
