Please return fusion rifles to being projectile based weapons. Those of us from d1 who know how to use one will clearly be outliers only able to do things like in the video attached. This took practice to learn and master. I hate to see work like this go to waste and be easily accessible to all others. Not trying to be elitist but ya know handing out skill (decreasing the skill gap) just keeps happening and it's kinda tiring
Edit: did I break the internet?
Edit 2: this is only a nerf to people who crutch the fusion rifle like it's a long range shotgun not the people who remember the skills to use them from d1

3 RepliesAll you'll do is make the good fusion rifle players even better.

Buff Sidearms, woo!

7 RepliesNo because: 1) Even with the current state of Fusions (including High-Impact) Shotguns are still statistically used more on 90% of all pvp modes. Nerf fusions and we're back to 12 people using Shotguns in 6v6. 2) Projectile-based Fusions in D1 were inconsistent at close-medium ranges most of the time because you were dealing with 2 RNG variables: Bolt spread + Bolt contact. Combine bolt contact with laggy servers like we have here on D2 and Fusions go back to being trash overall. 3) The Impact / Charge Time Ratio of Fusions in D2 are much lower than that of D1 Fusions. To put it in perspective, a Fusion in D2 that charges as fast as Plan C did in D1 will only deal about 39 damage per bolt + experience damage falloff, while Plan C dealt 45 per bolt + no falloff. 4) Judging from your most used weapons: https://destinytracker.com/destiny-2/profile/xbl/Account%20Recov/detailed It seems that you're just an undercover Shotgun ape who's trying to get Fusions nerfed so you can have an easier time in PvP lol.

16 RepliesEdited by DuBChiri2: 10/25/2019 4:29:27 AMNo thanks. All of them sucking beyond belief except for a single archetype isn't something I enjoyed. It's not something that added skill or a weakness, it simply added unnecessary inconsistency. With latency and things the way they are, not only did it bring flaws to the weapon themselves, but if you didn't roll them in a very specific way, it was practically a death sentence. I spent a lot of time finding the perfect fusion rifle in d1 and so many of them even with counterbalance and range finder just did not suit them. Having nor only a charge time near ttk AND travel time on bolts that had damage fall off was just stupid. Rapid fire frames require all 6 bolts to kill and are easily the most inconsistent ones to use. The charge time almost literally doesn't even matter because you will die anyways if you miss. Same thing for adaptive frames. They have about a 18 meter kill range at best because of how steep their damage fall off is. I've got one with tap the trigger AND firmly planted. Despite it being a literal vertical beam, it still doesn't consistently kill targets because of recoil and damage fall off. The precision frame ones are perfect. Sometimes they kill beyond expected range, but that is rare and they have a charge time slower than most close range weapon can kill with. The high impacts are the only ones out of line. Nerf their damage to about 44 per bolt instead of 48-49 so that instead of killing most people in 4 bolts, it takes 5. By doing this, you just drastically nerfed their potential kill range. Decrease the range as well if that helps, but that's all that's necessary.

2 RepliesFusion Rifles need a buff tbh. While I don't condone violence or abuse, If a Special weapon isn't causing my opponent to beat his wife, then it's not doing its job.
-
Yeah, I want using a Fusion Rifle to go back to being about smart play and leading the engagement, not "Shotgun ape-ing except from further away".
-
Yes. Fusions would be perfectly balanced if they weren't hit scan, as it stands now you can have too much range, but reducing the range would make them useless compared to shotguns. Keep the range but make it projectile based.
-
1 ReplyYes you broke the forums because you wrote about a good balance to fusions that would make it so you can’t OHK at 35m, and people don’t want their crutch erentil nerfed.

5 RepliesThey never stopping being projectile weapons with travel time. Moron.

12 RepliesEdited by UltraCon79: 10/25/2019 12:04:27 AMI think they should charge you percentages of ammo from reserves when you pre charge a fusion rifle
-
1 Replyto clarify; fusions in d1 were projectile speed based, and the speed was tied to range stat. They also had no falloff damage, so it didn't matter if you were point blank or at the max range before cut off. They also couldnt crit.- they were also special weapons. Only sidearms were hitscan in d1. D2 - they switched fusions over to hitscan, because they needed to contend with RL, grenade launchers etc as they were now heavies. ie. rockets and grenades had travel time but could shoot instantly, and be reloaded while travel time was happening. Fusions were the inverse where they had no travel time but you needed to charge your shot. The only main issue with it being hitscan is that if the target was in your hitbox when you released the trigger it will count as a hit - hence why you ran behind a wall but still died, its because your oppoent still had you in sight when they released the trigger. Pair that with Bungie's spaghetti net code and latency issues and it seems worse than it is. If they were NOT hitscan, fusions would be more unreliable and therefore less useful in the sandbox.

3 RepliesI can't even figure out wtf ur talking about

2 RepliesYou wanna be wrecked even more. FRs were better, harder hitting and more deadly in D1 than they are in D2. Darkblades Spite and the Salad shooter FR would wipe people out without even hitting with all it's bolts and could pretty much map people, I miss my DBS. And with the special ammo economy the way it is now, people would shiite themselves every time they heard a voop with the way FRs were in D1.

1 ReplyEdited by AlieN_x_HuMaN: 10/25/2019 8:02:42 AMNot trying to be funny,... I dont understand this post at all. You can map some one with Erentil right now just like what you did in that clip with whatever that op thing was called, forgot. No one liked it then, and no one likes it now. *Saladins Vigil...

1 ReplyThey already have travel time and the blots still despawn upon death. They function exactly like D1 Only 1 rifle has killer range. The rest are still exactly the same as D1.
-
9 RepliesThey do have bolt travel time.
-
Agree. I have given a lot of feedback on this as well. It's a change that never should have been made.
-
Fake video, you're not using wormwood 🙄
-
5 RepliesEdited by GalaxySpider: 10/25/2019 7:15:21 AMBolts have a travel time. And this has never been changed from D1 even though some people here say otherwise. Try to hit a strafing person from really far away in a private match and you will miss almost every bolt. What most people don't know: the range stat also increases the travel time of a fusion rifle. So the Erentil, for example, is really deadly in a close to even mid-range encounter because the range stat is almost at max.

That kill is honestly nothing special.

I know you want to be special, but there is no point in ruining the crucible for everyone so you can feel special.

is it just a law on these forums that there must be 1-2 threads about fusions in trending at all times? they're fine, boohoo
-
10 Replies>Players complainging about fusions >Fusions only make up around 4% of the usage rate while shotguns make up 30% Why are fusion OP again ?
-
Another crucible crybaby

2 RepliesI'd be down for this if there was no damage falloff and the bolts disintegrated enemies like they used to, that way we have a counter to exploding enemies again. Hell, make the bolts debuff enemies so that they can't stomp attack for a few seconds. Hire me bungie.
