I was playing Iron Banner and realised how many players had grinded to get to 960+ (myself included) and were 2-tapping and in some cases 1-tapping lower levels, new lights and casuals and it made me realise that it has become a slight bit absurded the difference power levels made.
I just want to gauge the community's opinion here and hope that you all refrain from post hate comments here as it is unnecessary.

What really is the point of it anyway. Sure the first iron banner there's low light level guardians, and quite a few of them. By the time the next IB comes around everybody is max light, or at least most people. Which makes little to no advantage when everybody is the same light, or within just a couple light levels of each other.

1 ReplyIt should. WOAAHHH WHAT? YOU GRINDED FOR 950 GEAR???? YOU TOTALLY DESERVE AN ADVANTAGE IN ONE OF THE FEW ACTIVITIES THAT REWARD PINNACLE GEAR.
-
If it wasn't for the light advantage, I would be at 5% of scout rifle kills, instead of having randys throwing knife. Thank you to all the low light guardians I was 2 tappin.
-
I found the power advantage more annoying than anything when trying to complete the bounties. I'm at 964 but found myself lowering my level to 930 on purpose to get the bonus bounty progression. Bad design

Highered?

1 ReplyDon't care as I don't play IB anymore, but whats the point of it being enabled in that one PvP match type to begin with, really.
-
I enjoyed fighting higher level opponents as I worked my way up the power ladder. I was hoping they would bring back the "Iron Burden" so I can finally get the 2500 kills while 100 light levels below the others. Love that Emblem!!
-
It's always been this way. If you are not up to it, stay out. (Or try to get the challenge emblem)

It wouldn’t have hurt to do it for the first one... However, as a low light guardian myself, I knew going in at a lower light would be difficult. I still went in anyway, paid for it a few times, but for the most part it didn’t matter much. My point is, I didn’t have to go in. I did because you get pinnacle gear from it, and it didn’t take all week to get it. Now, I’m more prepared for the next one.

Enable all the perks and levels to max, the more power the better. Remove all the nerfs as well. From day one forward.

The first Iron banner of a new season/light level increase absolutely should. Then it should go back to normal after that one.

2 RepliesYes. Every single PvP mode should be on an equal playing field. Giving power advantages only furthers the gap between players and promotes elitist behavior and a more disrespectful and toxic mentality wthin the community given the frustrations surrounding it. I posted something about this in the suggestion forum as well. PvP is ALWAYS the hardest challenge of video games because you're going against people, not algorithms, and as such it should be equal, advantage should be skill based, not level based.
-
It has always been the way with IB and it’s fine 👍

10 RepliesNope, blow the scrubs heads off!!

For me it's always been the End Game PvP mode. It drops top level rewards, same as raids. It's also the only place you can go and have any kind of advantage based on your own time investment. I personally love IB with it being Power Enabled. Otherwise its just Control.
-
Considering it was one of the original features and I’m guessing a way to make more PVP players join in I can’t say it would make sense to remove power levels. It’s only one of a few modes that actually has this as a selling point and was always meant to be a little harder than what standard crucible is, but not as sweaty as trials. I’d say if you care about your KD or anything like that then I would just stay away from it unless you’re close to cap, otherwise I just go in and do it for the gear.

2 RepliesIt is one of the few modes that has always had it aside from the dismal D2 launch! They should always keep it, if you can’t hang don’t complain. I played against 750’s when I was 399 and still completed bounties and quests. Played with hard hitting bite of fox Polaris lance and box breathing crooked fang. Even with box breathing active one the crooked fang a head shot would do only like 180 Again’s a higher level guardian. I knew what I was getting into, and did not want to buy forsaken.

Hell yes

1 ReplyIt should be posted in #Destiny2 and maybe #Feedback. #Offtopic is more of the outside of Destiny section of the forums.
