They actually lied about bright dust.
They said we were going to get more dust than ever if we were playing a lot.
And....i did most bounties i was able to do, grinded to rank 100+
And i gained less bright dust than what i was able to get during a single week before shadowkeep.

I fully agree with you. People who play 4 hours or less a week are getting more BD, so for the very casual this is a good change. Individuals, like myself, who play around 10 hours a week are going from earning 3k BD a week down to 1k BD and have to maintain three characters to do so. I did see this coming when I saw how much BD the Tribute Hall was eating (I waited for the full 80% discount before buying and it was still tens of thousands).

This though, nah, I disagree. I've made WAY more BD than i ever have in shadowkeep. I make 780 BD just by doing 3 milestones a week on one character. Doing all 3 gets me 2,340BD and I can keep getting more. Before shadowkeep I made like 200-300 a week, it's definitely more now.
-
Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with Fairy, and repeat the question of how you are making more since Shadowkeep started than before Shadowkeep? Were you just not playing at all before Shadowkeep?
-
I played a good bit before shadowkeep, BD earning was RNG based and all I got was shaders and ghost shells. So i made absolutely nothing. Which is why this system is better, you can now know what amount of BD you'll make in a week rather than leaving it up to RNG to decide

But you also got to choose how you played to earn those engrams to earn that Bright Dust. Not to mention the fact that now you're limited to those 6 bounties, which you can only do once a week (even if on all 3 characters), to make any decent amount of Bright Dust.
-
If you're throwing in how you play into the equation than just throw anything else out the window. How you play is subjective and affected how much XP you got so one person's way of playing made very little BD while another's made a decent amount

The least amount of Bright Dust you could get from an engram (by dismantling was) 110 (a legendary item and a transmat effect) while the high end was 530 (an exotic item and 3 shaders). So you could get anywhere from 330 to 1590 in Bright Dust depending on what you got from the engram itself if you dismantled what you got. To me though it seemed like I got an exotic item every 3 engrams, 5 at most, and shaders (3 shaders = 30 Bright Dust) more often than transmat effects. You then got Eververse notes from every Eververse engram you turned in which could be used to purchase bounties to get even for Bright Dust. If you only did those first 3 levels a week and bought and did the most expensive bounty you could afford with those notes each week that was an additional 70 Bright Dust. So now the range of Bright Dust you earn a week is 400 to 1650. So compare the weekly bounties you can do for Bright Dust now to the minimum amount of Bright Dust you could get from an engram previously and you can see the difference is 90 more for the bounties but there are only 6 you can do a week. So the difference between 6 bounties and 6 engrams is 540 (again that's assuming you had crap luck with what you got from the engrams). If you also did 6 engrams you would get 6 notes, use those for the highest costing bounty which would award you with 150 Bright Dust. That brings the difference between 6 bounties and 6 engrams down to 390. While you previously would have gotten less Bright Dust than you would do now, to get that Bright Dust now you have to do specific tasks in specific activities, but before anything you did worked towards getting Bright Dust because as it was you got Engrams everytime you leveled. Then there was also no limit to how many engrams you could earn a week (same case as this season, but not in regards to Bright Dust) so you could keep doing anything you wanted to do and keep earning Bright Dust.

200-300 a week ? How ? Even with the shittiest RNG you were able to get more than that on one character. Dismanteling an exotic item from engrams was already a +500. And you were able to get those engrams by playing the way you want. Without playing FOR bright dust. If i want bright dust now i have to give up on raiding with my clan or doing other activities that we need to do. Just to do activities we do not like and making us use weapons/subclasses we dont want to use for bounties in order to get some bright dust ? Thats a waste of time and only rewards casual gameplay.

That's weird, because I've spent about 5-6k bright dust this season and have more now than when the season started

Like 16k I think. I'm very conservative with my bright dust

When don’t they lie?
