I've got the same problem. The game works for about 15-20 minutes before the error pops up. Sometimes the game minimizes by itself, but sometimes the game screen just freezes and I can't do anything besides hard reboot my computer. The only weird thing is that I don't even have the appid.txt file in the first place, so I can't even delete it.

You have to run it as Admin first and it will give you the error. Go back into the game files and it'll be there. But from what I have experienced, and a few others as well, it still gives the same error.
