Being unable carry over my Destiny 1 characters to Destiny 2
I had previously played Destiny 1 on PS4, and wanted to bring my character over to Destiny 2.
After logging into the cross-save page to transfer my character, it stated that I had no character on this account. After reloading the page, and even opening Destiny 1, it still didn't change.
One thing I think might be the problem, is that I had Destiny 1 as a disk, and have downloaded Destiny 2 from the PlayStation store.
What is the cause of my not being able to link my character, and how do I resolve it?

i have the same problem, when i star up destin2 only available me to create a new character. i thought that matbe later after finishing the tutorial with the new character i would be able to change to my old character.

If you had already brought your D1 characters into D2, by playing D2 on PS4, then you would have characters available for cross-save. However, if you are not involving two different platforms, then cross-save does not apply to you. It sounds like you are intending to play D2 on PS4, which means that you simply need to start up the game, with the same PSN account that you previously played D1 on. If your characters had completed the Black Garden mission, and reached level 20, prior to August 1st 2017, then they will be available to be brought forward. Keep in mind that the only things that carry forward are the character appearances, and a small change to dialogue in the game. No levels, gear, inventory, etc, is carried between D1 and D2.

Destiny 1 characters and Destiny 2 characters are not the same. If you have never loaded into Destiny 2 on your PS4, then you have no Destiny 2 characters on PS4. If you wish to import your Destiny 1 characters into Destiny 2, and then cross save those characters, you will need to do the following: 1) Download and install Destiny 2 onto your PS4 2) Launch into Destiny 2 on your PS4 3) When you are going through the setup, it should ask you if you want to import your Destiny 1 characters. 4) When finished, launch into and of your characters and complete the first mission of the game. The character import will copy the likeness of your characters into Destiny 2, as well as enable some veteran dialog changes. It will not bring any gear or progression over to Destiny 2 . Now that you have Destiny 2 characters on your PS4, you can enable cross save and use those PS4 characters on any platform you have linked to your Bungie profile.
