Why are you all surprised that Iron Banner is trash?
Unless this is your first time playing, it should come as no surprise that Iron Banner is a nightmare to play. Teammates who don't capture zones, 6-stacks playing like their girlfriend is watching, and obnoxious loadouts have been the hallmark of Iron Banner since it was first introduced. Not to mention the connection issues that always seem to pop up during Iron Banner for some reason.
I'll give you this, that the new "quest" for IB is awful and pointless.

I’m doing better in IB than I have in a long time. Multiple streaks, one was 10 games straight. I run solo and have a lifetime kd of about 1.0. But, Mida is back! And coupled with Recluse or a fusion (Main Ingredient for me) I have been doing well! I’m 60% through scout kills in maybe 40 matches and have ~1.5 or so kd in that time. I’m loving it! Sure I get stomped a times, but that’s crucible. Just suck it up and on to the next match.

I actually enjoyed iron banner. It was my first one in a long long time.

For me, it wa because Bungie said they had a new matchmaking system. I didn't know we would STILL constantly fly into games that were 4 to 65. I didn't know that the majority of the games would STILL be stomp or get stomped I didn't know that the lag would STILL be a major issue. I didn't know that Bungie would STILL have the worst matchmaking I've ever seen in a game A lot of us had high hopes that Bungie actually didn't something to improve the game. I guess those of us who tried to believe in Bungie are the fools as I'm here to tell you NOTHING HAS CHANGED. It's all a huge mess and next time we will all know and avoid it.

I am on the quest for sub guns and super kills. I would rather play bubble but ok. Got 12 in two game playing bottom tree. Last 3 games got mercy ruled and never got super. 3 games in a row ? Shut off game for the night.

3 RepliesRemove the kill bounties and make them all objective based would be a start. People just want to get their kills done and move on. Replace it with x amount of zones in one round, hold all 3 zones x amount of times, defend zone against x amount of players and you might actually get people playing properly.

Leading to Bungie algorithm to bring in players closer to your skill from much further away than usual. It has always twice as laggy as other gamemodes. Ever since SBMM was a thing. It does NOT mix well with P2P networking.

First IB of the season is always cancer, just grin and bear it until next season where light level is more or less normalized again

I'd rather both IB and the trash that is Gambit were removed from the game period. Focus on improving the base PVE and PVP experience. Destiny has far too much superfluous crap.

actually.. i had some kind of fun.. being matched against people of my skill level has been a nice fresh experience after soo many years of hunterchickendacncenevermissscuffcontroller encoutners together with a good chance to get decent loot was the perfect slight desire to play i needed to get,.. and as long as i am not matched against MLG pros every match then i am fine.. and even the bounties have been better since they include the capturing of zones and kill opponents to progress the bounties.. i have to say: it was fun so far..

There’s an old say: Don’t hate the player, hate the game. It’s not the players fault if they have to play pulse, fusion, and smg only. Who is going to use his Super when there are easy pulse or fusion or smg kills in front of him/her? Who is going to try hard winning whilst delaying completion of bounties yielding 50 tokens for a 2 token spread? Meanwhile the others will complain that the quest is too long, too tedious, and that they don’t have teammates to capture or help them win. That they don’t loot anything in game... Yes, this is destiny. Working as intended and as always. However now trying not to lose too many F2P consumers.
