If you want something similar I'd say give BL3 a shot, I've heard good things. If you haven't tried Monster Hunter, that game is damn good and they released a decent DLC. Or perhaps Dark Souls... Really every game in that series is a masterpiece. 3 was my personal favorite, but one remastered is just so much fun.

I have BL3, and while I loved the previous iterations in the series, I find the third one very disappointing... The writing in the first one, the second one, and the prequel was BRILLIANT! I tend to enjoy games with mostly static gear that you hold on to for a while and slowly build up with perks/mods (and especially skill trees - like the old Final Fantasy games). These looter-shooters don't seem to be for me, first-person shooters in general. Dark Souls is also a good suggestion and a series I forgot about, so I'll definitely look into that! I wish they would come out with either a new or remastered version of Fable, as that series was really fun to play. THANKS FOR TAKING MY REQUEST SERIOUSLY AND GIVING SUGGESTIONS!

You should give Monster Hunter a try! It sounds like it'd be right up your alley. It's all about picking the right gear for how you want to play, leveling up that gear, and smashing/slashing the crap out of giant beasts. I haven't hopped on it in a while but just talking about it makes me want to play. Seems to me like we have pretty similar tastes (•‿•)
