No. This would invalidate a big part of the replayability of Pinnacle content. Go into the raid a couple times until RNG favors you and gives you a full set of armor, then just farm a low difficulty high reward activity like Tier 1 Reckoning or Vex Offensive until you Get the best possible armor stat rolls. Apply raid armor ornament, and boom. You have an optimized set of raid armor with 2-3 raid clears. Never have to touch any raid every again, except for Weapons.

  • Or how about we actually get a proper transmog system? And how about we stop accepting Bungies lazy attempts at things and actually have a voice that isn't muffled by the cheeks of Bungo wrapped around your face? Bout time people stopped just accepting the turds Bungo drops on them.. Have an actual opinion man, stop just nosing further into the cheeks.

  • Big talk from a guy with 0 years on Bungie.net. I’m one Bungie’s biggest critics here bud. I’m concerned about how goddamn easy the game would be with a transmog, simply because of how uncomplicated the armor system is. Were there more complications to it, like more stats or actual armor abilities or something like you see in other MMOs? Maybe. Not here. A purple you drop from a Dreg in the EDZ has a chance to roll with better stats than gear you Get from a Raid. Which is absolutely idiotic. If the raid gear dropped with better stats than basic -blam!- Armor we wouldn’t need to have this issue in the first place.

  • Agreed, an actual scale of armor rarity should definitely be in place 🤷🏻‍♂️ but that's Bungie. Knowing that they don't have the effort in them to actually do something of that scale, I'd just be happy with customisation via transmog seeing as that's a more attainable goal for Devs with their laziness

  • Eh. I just feel like a full transmog system would screw up what little exclusivity there is. Like I said, it would turn into, “Just do the raid a few times until you get a full set of armor, then farm a low difficulty, high reward activity like Tier 1 Reckoning or Vex Offensive until you Get armor with optimal rolls, slap the Raid appearance on there and boom, god tier set of Raid gear with only a couple clears.” It’s just not attractive to me, and if it existed I know I would do it because it’s easy. But I’d like to avoid that.

It's literally just for cosmetic purposes. The raid is useless anyways. Pinnacles drop +1. If people want to raid they will. Most people would just raid for the set anyways, then stop. Not caring about stats at all. (Not like they're game changing) Also people grinding for "perfect gear" would be wearing all sorts of random scrap. They would definitely not try to get "perfect gear" on the raid set alone. They would take anything.

  • That theory sounds nice on paper. Fact of the matter is players get discouraged after a certain point and stop raiding anyways. 1k voices and anarchy will back me up. Only the delusional continue to chase it (me being one of those)

No. It wouldn't. We'd still have to farm for stat rolls we wanted. By your logic, once we got the set in D2 vanilla leviathan, no one should have went back in at all. Which that wasn't the case. Especially now that doing the raids or pinnacle content drops the enhanced mods we are desperately searching for. What happens in the next season, where this season's armor becomes obsolete or sub par. That's why we want ornaments. Our gear can still evolve as we play. But if there's a certain style or armor set we want to rock - we can. If it is in our collection, we should be able to use it as an ornament.

  • Leviathan also had secret chests with good exotic drop rates, actual Raid challenges, and a Prestige mode. It was also the only thing actually worth doing in Year 1. EOW and SOS offered LL 400 Weapons going into Forsaken. Prestige EOW and SOS offered weapon catalysts and SOS had an exotic emote everyone wanted. GOS has an exotic weapon you can get your first clear, and chances at Enhanced perks.

  • That’s stupid for the main reason that right now there’s ‘more than one set of raid gear’. You’ve got to grind for Solar or Void or Arc depending on which you want for mods, and then there’s the 65 stats. I’d bet on the majority of people not getting full raid armor with one burn, let alone all 65. A true transmog system would alleviate this by letting you make one piece of gear look like the other but maintaining the good stats which probably took a whole month just to get.

  • Sometimes they do. Experienced raiders who like to screw around and be dumbasses like myself and use Sturm and Drang for Boss DPS on Kali and other stupid shit. But that’s not the main motivator for Raids. Always has been, always will be, the loot.

  •
But that’s not the main motivator for Raids. Always has been, always will be, the loot.
Except for the most part D2 raid rewards are pretty friggen trash outside of the exotics. So i pretty much do them for fun and power level grinding at best.

  • Wonderful. Difference of opinion. I happen to see value in the Raid loot. Because most of them act unique, or at least look the part. Glad you have fun. I do too. Loot is still the primary motivator.

  • With current season raid armor I'll better use Vanguard or Crusible armor without any ornaments, you know. They still looks more intresting, then reskin raid set. =_=
