Solar shouldn't be left out of this season's artifact, and neither any other subclass in future seasons. make artifact mods for all subclasses and let us chose what we want to play. is it that hard?!
-
Well the artifact seems to be designed mainly for the seasons enemy at that time. We're facing vex this season and last time I checked solar shields don't get lobbed on vex. When the threat changes, so will the needed element.
-
You do realize this was by design. I'm guessing next seasons artifact will emphasize solar and less of another. It forces you to adapt your playstyle which I like. Players always find te one subclass that is the best and never play anything else. This forces you to rethink that and experiment more

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 10/14/2019 6:26:33 PMBungie: We want you to play your way. Also Bungie: *continues to impose seemingly arbitrary restrictions and pursuits that dictate your loadout *never lets us change anything about our Guardian’s appearance including minor cosmetic changes despite that people have asked for this since D1, Y1 *makes everything so meticulously specific and spreads everything out across the entire experience with no alternate paths of progression or methods of acquisition despite that the game essentially encompasses several vastly different genres and thus has very different types of gamers The kings of rigid game design continue to strike again.

And it will change in 2 months when we have to also re-level up a new artifact and the grind starts all over again. I am already dreading that. Been playing Destiny for 5 years now, which is pretty amazing. But I am getting very worn down by the high maintenance of the game.
-
I agree. They limited the builds we can use with the new champions. Also armor 2.0 is very limited. The very first column in the artifact is useless. They should scrap the first column and add solar subclass mods and add in a few new weapon mods with the disruption and stagger mods.

Bungie: Force players to play how we want them to, CHECK!
Seriously, this sums up Bungie!
I've noticed something similar yesterday night. Me and other two Clanmates tried the Heroic Nightfall (920) for the first time so we opened up our Artificast to make the specific Mods against Champions, however, we could put them only on certain Weapons like Auto-Rifle and Submachines Guns. Also, the Mod that allows to stun an Instoppable Champion could be only applied on Handcannons. We were confused by this choice. Why not universal Mods? I mean, it didn't change that much 'cos we could simply switch weapons through the Nightfall, still, I don't understand why put this kind of restriction for these Mods.
-
I love how in the Vidoc Bungie said we could play how we want. That's so far from the truth. We can't use our favorite exotic weapons in the Nightfall Ordeal because we're not allowed to equip at least Champion mods on them. I always gotta use Arianna's Vow and switch mods on my legendary primary weapon. We have restrictions on our armor and mod setups in the form of elemental lockouts. Transmog isn't anywhere near what it's supposed to be. We got blues dropping higher light than legendaries with +5 energy by default. Champion mods are only allowed on specific weapon types. Artifact mods will go away forever and change into some random selection of class/weapon specific mods/perks each season. They have always dictated our playstyles.
-
With this Season there was suppose to be more choice but reality is we have less w elemental gates on armor - artifact dictating r weapons & sub class use in order to be effective in the New modes ...like bungie didnt even think this thru or got lazy.
-
Bungie deeply cares about our time investment. They even allowed us to access eververse from orbit so we dont waste our time going to the tower.

Edited by Major-Payne: 10/13/2019 4:13:11 AMGuys making content is hard. Bungie only has the resources to make minor tweaks at a time maybe we all pitch in and buy some Eververse gear so they can hire some more devs. It’s really not on them they only make games.

I'm just a humble Gunslinger trying to honour the memory of my fallen Vanguard.... And I support this message. Where's my Solar Week, anyway?

Edited by A KOOL POP TART: 10/14/2019 11:18:17 PMEverything this season: use arc and void to have a better experience! Me, a Solar Titan who hasn't changed his subclass since he acquired Hammer of Sol in TTK: *LAUGHS IN EXPLODING HAMMERS*

Dregs still die if you kill them right.

Tbh, i don't feel like the artifact is limiting my playstyle. Titan, bottom solar tree with termites. You can see the gear. Sunspots for days. And the Dog shreds.

Edited by Offstar: 10/14/2019 12:25:41 AMThe point of the seasonal artifact is twofold one it matches the theme of the season. This season is the Season of the Undying which is themed around the Vex. Now what damage do Vex mostly use? Void. And what shields do Vex have? Arc and void. The other reason is the artifact is meant to test out some unique ideas and builds. And this season is testing out unique mods for arc and void. It's not forcing us to use the subclasses they want us to use. It's giving us some unique options to test out with certain subclasses. The next season is the Season of the Dawn where solar mods will be the focus of the artifact and maybe some other interesting and unique mods. To have the artifact have mods for every element and subclass not only does it defeat the purpose of the seasonal artifact it also hurts it. To just match all elements and subclasses goes against the purpose of the artifact being season themed. How does solar fit with the Vex? That's Cabal themed very few Vex do solar damage and they don't have solar shields. And it hurts the artifact because it means less mods for other things, they have to remove certain mod ideas to allow there to be room for all 3 elements. For a long time now solar has been the go to subclasses to use. Well of Radiance was a necessity in too many activities, Golden Gun was the absolute god for burst damage, Blade Barrage was devastating for single target and mob clear, and Titans had melting point. Solar subclasses came out above arc and void subclasses. Now with the updates and the seasonal artifacts Bungie wanted to make the other classes more viable and give a reason to use them. When Season of the Dawn releases we'll get mods for solar classes to make them interesting with the new mods. Then the next season will release and give us more mods for a different element or elements.

No one is forcing you to use the artifact mods. You can play however you want. But I guess if you want ohko melees in pvp, you're gonna have to play arc
-
You got issues. Go try get attention somewhere else. This is not an issue. Following seasons will change subclass.
-
The artifact offers bonus mods you never had before. You can play the game the same way you did before. You do not have to use the mods and the subclass required to use some of those mods. I've still been using sunbreaker a whole bunch. It is not the end of the world, using the mods are optional.
-
Bungie should hire you and give you a promotion.
-
I imagine they will rotate each season. I think it’s fine to bring 2 to the forefront. I still ran Celestial in the raid anyway, it just increases team variety and composition.
-
Yeah I don't think it's a good look. People were "forced" to run Well for a season and look how well that went.
-
The artifact is literally meant to be a way for Bungie to test new things and new play styles not to control how you play. Whats next? -blam!- about how you have to be 3rd person In the tower?
-
Yeah it seems a bit odd how excluded solar feels from everything, like there are triumphs for void and arc kills on the moon that you need if you want the Undying title, but none for solar as well. (Not that i'm complaining because the grenade requirement for it sucks)
-
Ive been running with a solar titan since the dlc dropped. The artifact isnt making me use a different subclass honestly. Im not impressed by the artefact. Its good but it lacks a lot of things.
-
As someone who plays Way of a Thousand Cuts way too much to be healthy, this is not an issue. If anything, it's a good way to get people to branch out into other subclasses they might not ordinarily use.
