What does SIVA stand for?
I was told by a friend that SIVA is an acronym for something and have not been able to find out. Here is what i’m thinking:

Technically it's just a translation of Shiva the Hindu word meaning the destroyer, one of the three chief deities of the later Hindu pantheon, the other two being Brahma and Vishnu. Siva is also the god presiding over personal destinies. from Sanskrit Śiva, literally: the auspicious (one). This may be the reason for the plague's name due to its lore as a destroyer.

2 RepliesIf I had to guess, it’s a close approximation to Shiva, the Hindu deity, god of creation and destruction. No idea why the name is in all caps though.

It wasn’t meant to be a virus. The original purpose of SIVA was to quickly build new colonies out of almost nothing. It only became the destructive force that we’ve seen because of Rasputin using it as a weapon to destroy the Iron Lords.
