Recluse is still OP
You have perks for extra damage through mods for PvE exclusive content. Stop making damage buffs for PvP... People should not be punished because a stupid teamate got himself killed and then you get sprayed by that crap.

I love the recluse for low end PVE mob killing but I get it handed to me if I carry that thing into comp. I do play on console and have never used it on a PC though.

Recluse isn't nearly as bad as any Fusion Rifle or even a shotgun. Stop exposing yourself too much and if you hear your team die by Recluse, DON'T ENGAGE. Pull your shotty or Fusion Rifle out and wait around the corner. They'll be pushing hard to make use of the 3 second damage buff and you can drop a nade at the corner too.

It's not Recluse, it's just well rolled SMGs in general. And by well rolled I mean a damage perk and reload perk (Swashbuckler and Outlaw rolls on both new SMGs in Shadowkeep). SMGs are EXTREMELY strong for ad clear. Auto rifles are a joke in comparison.

On top of the fact that it's outclassed by a lot of [i]Blues[/i] while MoA isn't active, due to a lack of any neutral game perks. On top of MoA being really easy to wait out due to it only lasting 4 seconds... Kill Clip Valkadyn completely outclasses Recluse's range, with more ammo to work with, and a fairly similar TTK (Same damage per shot, slightly reduced RPM).

The one recluse counter on PC (I have no year 2 console experience) is last word which is also stupidly good. Imo recluse probably needs to be tweaked on both platforms and last word maybe just on PC (otherwise even more pc players would swap to last word if just recluse was nerfed)

No it isn’t. Have you tried riskrunner lately? Or are you just that terrible at the game. Riskrunner is a HANDOUT and with its catalyst it outclasses recluse quite a bit

Not really a PvP player, but If you want to make PVE very boring, just find someone with a recluse and just follow him through a strike or something, you won't really have a choice as they will have killed everything with the recluse before you have a chance to. It's quite annoying, I've actually started to leave strikes once I see someone is using recluse.

8 RepliesEveryone is just defending this crutch lmao. It’s recoil is not remotely hard to control on console. It’s incredibly easy. And it’s perk activated with any weapon kill, can chain and has .4 bodyshot TTK combined with feeding frenzy. It’s op. There is no denying it. Just because you can sit from afar and kill someone using it doesn’t make it not op.

4 RepliesIt'll get nerfed soon. It's way too strong in both PvE and PvP and is unhealthy for the game. Nothing really compares to the add clearing power of Recluse and it basically locks down the Primary and Energy slots because of it.

If 90% of every world's first raid team had the Recluse, if every quick play match as one and every comp match; it's obviously OP when so many people feel the need to equip it to get an edge. If there was a viable counter to it then I’d say leave it alone but as it stands, recluse has no rival. It absolutely destroys everything and everyone.

Just got it and used it some, but not much. I would say in my limited use of the weapon... It’s far from OP. It melts up close and can keep you out of melee range. If you get caught in close quarters combat against it with a medium to long distance weapon your likely going to lose the battle. People who get killed often by your Scout, will close the distance and melt you with it and that’s why a lot of people mistake it for “OP”. If you run a scout/pulse use an smg/side arm with it to win you more of the close quarter fights. If you prefer medium distance fights, hand cannon with a fusion, will keep them out of recluse range.

1 ReplyNo. Leave the weapon alone. The ability of the weapon should not be mess with for those who work very hard for it including me. If you hate getting killing by it, then avoid playing pvp. If you can't achieve the weapon then its better to avoid it. Theres other nice sub mechine guns out there like huckleberry riskrunner also the ones in vex offence are pretty good too.

5 RepliesSo go get it? Comp point gains are super easy right now. Recluse isn't as amazing and, honestly, I prefer my trackless waste to it 9 times outta 10. In the end, its still strong but not really OP to hell anymore. Quit crying about it. Put in some time and effort to get it and shut up. Everyones always crying and whining about everything, bungie makes it easier, and still its never easy enough for some of you people.

1 ReplyFor me, I found Loaded Question was a good counter to Recluse. I have posted this a few time, and it may be that I need to get used to it, but I feel the recluse is kind of underwhelming. Sure, if I could get a hang of not dui g as much and take advantage of the perk it’d be a different story, but it doesn’t feel as good as I thought it would be.
