You have to do between 100-300 activities (strikes, crucible, vex offensive) with the gun equipped just to obtain the catalyst. Even 100 with both boosters is a bit much
-
Just equip it seconds before you complete an activity. Im at like 45% and ive only shot the gun maybe 10 times.
-
Yeah that sucks. What do you have to do AFTER you get the catalyst?
-
Could also not care cause its yet another exotic hand cannon.
-
You can farm it in team scorched... Don't even have to use the gun. Heck don't even have to play the game since 90% of peopl don't care about the outcome of a scorched game anyway.
-
Wow imagine not being able to complete a quest right away when it’s meant to last the entire season. You kids are ridiculous.
-
I’m currently at 80% 😓
-
They’ll adjust the requirements just like they did for the mountaintop quest. It’ll take a while but this is what happens when Bungie doesn’t play their own game. I did the mountaintop quest before the adjustment, so I learned my lesson and will patiently wait for the Vow adjustment.
-
Just play the game and remember to switch to vow at the last minute. That’s what I’ve been doing.
-
Yeah you think that's bad, the "kills and medals" portion of the Throwing Knife quest is -blam!-ing excessive. Drop 20-30 kills a game for 2-3 games, and it goes up 1%.
-
With both boosters it’s 50 gambit prime games
-
Just wait till when they nerf the quest.
-
Do... Sickens me to even say this.... Gambit prime. It awards most progress per match.
-
Just equip that trash gun and play team scorched. It counts.
-
Plus 3 rounds.. holy shit.. at least give it rampage. It's a useless weapon
-
Almost every catalyzed weapon I have has been nerfd so I will not waste that time, especially after Whisper got chopped. ‘For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction’...
-
Go into the team scorched playlist with vow equipped. Short games and will give 1% per match
-
Edited by crsno: 10/12/2019 4:36:45 PMNot owning Shadowkeep, I seem to get 1% per 5 playlist strikes. (The Ordeal not available to me this week.) Gambit & Crucible doesn't seem to be any faster. So 500 activities? Ridiculous. Obviously Bungie thinks they're clever by offering 2x & 3x progression boost by buying the season pass. But I'm not a fan of that tactic, not at all. In fact, it even less makes me want to buy anything from Bungie.
-
Get all the boosters and all you have to do is complete 50 matches of Gambit Prime.
-
I'll equip it in mayhem because I don't care about the gun, it's mediocre and the catalyst won't change much ... more ammo to be mediocre.
-
Gambit Prime only takes 50 completions with x3, still sucks but yeah. There’s no time limit on it so even it it takes all season you’ll get it eventually
-
Gambit Prime and Nightfall: The ordeals on higher difficulties both award about 2% per completion. I’m thinking Iron banner will be the same. That means next week is the time to grind. I’m already at 25% because I just enjoy using the gun.
-
Yup the best way is gambit prime and -blam!- me
-
Team Scorch 1% every 5mins or less
-
Prime gives you 2%
-
What does the catalyst do? Is it even worth going after?
