Can PVP stop being a cheese fest.

Its a little ridiculous on how dominating one hit weapons are in pvp. It isn't fun to use, and it frustrating to get used against, it flat out ruins pvp. When ever I die by a one hit weapon it doesn't fill like I got out played by that player, instead it feels like I got cheesed to death. If all of these cheese from shotguns. fusion rifles, shotguns, grenade launchers was removed from pvp, It would actually be fun. This isn't some noob who is ranting on how unbalanced the game is, this is a player who reached mythic 3 last season without using the cheese. How many people are new the destiny playing pvp saying the words "wow that guy had a pixel of health and he just one hit me" or "how are one hits balanced in a competitive game mode?". It doesn't take much to see what is wrong with pvp. The most fun D2 pvp has ever been was just before the release of shadow keep. When graviton lance and vigilance wing got buffed to their current time to kill. This was your testing ground to see how the community would react to a faster time to kill. It was obviously a positive reaction because that time to kill did not go away for those weapons in pvp, in fact you raised the time to kill on every weapon to match these 2 weapons, but in the process you removed shotguns, light weight grenade launchers, snipers, and fusion rifles, from the heavy weapon slot and moved them to the other slot requiring special amo to use before forsaken and everyone figured out they can just use cheese after forsaken. PVP could have been a fun and diverse experience but it all got over shadowed by the temptation of one hitting your opponents. If you want to make pvp fun again, you need to denny spawning with special amo, bring back green amo crates and/or defeated players drop a special amo brick if they are killed by a white amo weapon. Try this out for 2 weeks, just like the gravitation lance/ vigilance wing meta, and see how the community reacts to it. I'm sure there will be far more positive reviews than negative.

  • all those people saying 'git gud scrub' probably cant play the other way than cheese xD from my experience pvp in d2 is so much fun when i clutch with my beloved auto guns, and every time i get one shot by sliding shotties or one punch titans i tell to myself: yea they cant kill the other way. everybody has to have some fun i guess. by the way if you start talking about unballanced things in pvp why not mention supers and one punch? imo devs want this to be unique pvp experience and not another csgo. and yea... starting with zero green ammo would be great and rewarding if you get 1 spec ammo per kill. and i dont think it should stay in your inv for next round in modes like 3v3 elim. ballance baby. peace

  • This game will never be balanced for two simple reasons. 1. PVP shares a common sandbox wtih PVE....and PVE DEMANDS that their be real power differences between weapons....and weapons with different perk combinations. 2. This game's primaries are underpowered. They ALWAYS have been. You cannot combine fast moving Guardians, with slow killing weapons. The fact that Bungie insists on doing this is why OHK weapons are always a problem in this game that they aren't in other games, with faster killing primaries. The fact that it takes 0.8 secs (or more) to kill anything in PVP with a prmary weapon prevents Bungie from enforcing the range restrictions necessary to keep OHK weapons to a role being situational weapons. Because, that means that the effective range of my shotgun isn't 25 feet (average shooting distance for a OHK)...BUT INSTEAD 25 FEET **PLUS** THE DISTANCE I CAN RUN, BLINK OR TITAN SKATE IN THAT 0.8 SECONDS. Then when you start adding mobile OVERSHIELDS (Titans) that distance gets even larger. At the other end, those slow-killing primaries allow snipers to push up into mid-range and challenge primaries because they can simply face-tank incoming fire untl they can line up a head shot or dragscope you. In Titanfall 2, If you tried to charge someone over open ground with a shotgun----like you see every day in Destiny? You'd be dead before your third step. Also their sniper's handle sluggishly. So trying to snipe a fast moving pilot requires a tremendous amount of game sense and skill. But we've had five years of Bungie trying to pound a square peg into a round hole....and there is apparently no end in sight.

    • Double primary sucked and destiny lost half its player base. Also it would create a dependence on ohk abilities instead (shoulder charge and hand held super nova) special is mandatory in this game. If you run two primaries you’re not playing right. Would you only use your primary to dps in pve? No, you pick your load out. Special ammo adds tactical team fights as well. Pick your roll like every other part of the game. Be a sniper or a shotgunner or a demolitionist or a fusion guy. You put yourself at a disadvantage if you don’t just like you would in every other part of this game.

      • Go back to Cod It’s whiners like you that made that made year one of destiny 2 suck. Bungie has already done ever thing that you have suggested and it killed the pvp population. Do us a favor and stay out of pvp or get good scrub.

              • One thing I can agree with - special ammo shouldn't drop on special weapon kills. Might help a little with all the shotgun apes.

                • Yea new trials and sbmm with high dtr and elos impossible to play even guickplay because teammates are complety autist and get teamshotted by 2 sensitivy bots because teammates are running to wall or are 20 levels with blue guns

                  • The problem isn’t the weapons, it’s the ammo economy. If you couldn’t pick up ammo after you’ve used it, it would be a whole different game. Special ammo would be a meaningful decision.

                          • Snipers arent really a problem easy to counter, shotgun runners are a problem, fusion rifle is a huge problem. But ill deal with these problems.
