Changes to Heavy Ammo in the Crucible

Due to recent feedback asking for a reduction in the amount of Heavy ammo available in Crucible we are issuing a server-side change to the following modes. These changes should be live now! Control will now have heavy ammo spawn in at 45 seconds and then every 120 seconds. It was spawning in at 45 seconds and then every 60 seconds. Clash and Supremacy will now have heavy ammo spawn in at 60 seconds and then every 120 seconds. It was spawning in at 15 seconds and then every 60 seconds. We don’t have server-side settings to change up the new 3v3 Survival mode but do plan to make the following changes in an update later this month. Survival will soon have heavy ammo spawn in at 60 seconds and then again 60 seconds later just as the tiebreaker objective spawns. It is currently spawning in at 30 seconds and then every 60 seconds. The amount of heavy ammo granted will be reduced to match the amounts in Elimination and the 6v6 modes. We saw a lot of feedback about making heavy one round or being removed but wanted to make sure there was still an incentive for players to maintain map control and not camp at the edge of the map once they have a life advantage. We will continue to monitor feedback on these changes.

  • Sounds good to me. Seriously though, I think you should have left it alone from Destiny 1 Year 3. That was a better set up in my opinion. Heavy ammo spawning in multiple places just once a match.

  • comp should just not have heavy since there is only fee people and you could just constantly get heavy about every min and kill the whole team and done everyone is dead time to start a cycle a new

    • Should probably just straight up remove power ammo in 3v3 that's too few people for power ammo to be acceptable and it STILL SPAWNS IN ONE SPOT i'm fine with the 20 extra seconds but maybe have more than one spawn location and only have it be known which one at the lest 15-10 seconds so it's not a camp match on some maps. Good step forward keep going.

      • Comp heavy should have been a part of this! you get way too much from this playlist, it makes the playlist less about skill and who can get heavy for the easy round win.

      • Please do NOT remove heavy from Comp, Gambit, or even QP. I can understand moving it around or spawning in multiple places at the same time to try to prevent camping if that is the issue trying to be solved (which makes no sense in Gambit). However, camping is more of a map layout problem than specifically a “Heavy” problem.

          Is it possible for Gambit to get similar treatment? Heavy is way too abusable and easy to hoard there, especially if invasions aren't going to get toned down. Edit: For some clarification, I am [u][b]not[/b][/u] asking for Heavy to be removed. I am asking for it to be [u][i]reduced[/i] or [i]reworked[/i][/u] due to its abundance. It is just as much of a game changer in Gambit as it is in Crucible. Apologies for any misconceptions.

          • I never thought about it but having the heavy in the middle really does keep a constant state of action and less camping. I do think that having heavy ammo in a sniping lane can be frustrating especially on maps like Pantheon however.

          • Why don’t you just get rid of special and heavy can’t use them anyway In crucible. 2 shots for a shotgun what a joke. Enough of this I don’t play crucible since d1 anyway

            • Then reduce the number of pvp matches required to get the weekly milestones done. Without enough heavy those will be even more insufferable now and take forever to complete.

                  F-ing fusion rifles F-ing fusion rifles ! Fusion rifles r a disgrace to this game, non skill required gun, most of pvp skillful players hate fusions, I disgust myself using this kinda of cheap gun ! It bores and u hate to see a scrub killing u because it's the only gun they know how to use! Alot of complaints about fusion rifles then Bungie : Ok we understand we r going to reduce the hand cannons range so u have to get closer to be absole by fusions = scrubs & noobs have a chance to survive in pvp or even pve u never know right 😂 "Edited"(Loadout so u don't assume) Ace or thorn, snipers and don't care much bout heavy! Just put any gl. Bottom tree arcstrider + dragon shadow ! Always ! Ace of Spades ! (Ps4=140s terrible bloon=almost unused gun in pvp ) but on pc 1 of the best ! So Bungie goes and nerf memento mori because 1eyedmask users r 2tapping in crucible non sense ok. Then shadowkeek came out with supposed better changes for HCs but they nerfed the range to the same range of fusion rifles ! So after nerfing alot a gun u have chemistry with, u think i wouldn't be mad ??? I even bought the new ornament the sec I logged in to get disappointed later! Good example here (I captured this week) Look at the range of Ace now ! I 4 tap him (3crits 1body) if i stepped half meter closer I was dead !                   • Here’s a thought. Just remove heavy as a whole in competitive. Oh and please nerf fusions. Erentil in specifics cause that weapons requires zero thumbs. Thanks!

                    • Take it back to year 1 heavy please. That system worked and allowed everyone to get heavy and go crazy then it was back to actual skill and primaries like it should be

                        How about this, for comp? Only spawn heavy if the capture zone spawns (creates a high risk high reward situation). Also, make the heavy and capture zone spawn locations semi-random in the middle portion of maps, so a single spawn point can't be camped. This will force players/teams to play the zone and heavy strategically. For example, if it's a 1v1 situation and only one person has a super, this would give the other opponent a fighting chance. Otherwise, heavy is unnecessary and waters down the overall comp experience. Just an idea, and my opinion. It could be worth a try in Labs...proof of concept. For all other non comp playlists, only spawn heavy 1-3 times total, depending on game mode (length). Leave the craziness for Mayhem. :D

                        • If you want to have heavy in survival I would say let it spawn once per round then. We don’t need it spawning twice.

                              • Please just make grenades and horseshoes a trait for other rocket launchers besides the truth. Truth is -blam!-in cancer upon my life and its just absolute bullshit to play against. Just knowing that the enemy has a dude camping the heavy for that pretty easy 3 kills. Also WHY IN THE -blam!- DOES TRUTH HAVE 3 ROCKETS? Like sure its exotic but every other launcher comes with just 2 rockets. Theres a whole bunch of other stupid weapoms in the game but this one summons all my hate in game
