Will exotics, raids and other activities linked to a season be unavailable after the season?

I have heard somewhere that after a season ends, you will no longer be able to obtain a specific exotic, and the raids and dungeons introduced in that season will no longer be available. Is that true? It just seems kind of odd, with all the work that goes into the raids and exotics.

The raid and dungeon are both part of ShadowKeep. As far as I know, the only weapons and items that will go away with Season of Undying is anything with the Season of Undying logo (Vex Head) on it, and the only activities that go away will be the Vex invasions and Vex offensive.
