Sorry if its common lore knowledge, I'm not the best with lore.
The Splicers had SIVA technology on the Moon during the SIVA Crisis. We clearly saw this when they resurrected Taniks. However, going back to the Moon in Shadowkeep, I don't see any trace of SIVA. It's almost like it never existed.
When we destroyed the replication chamber, did it destroy all of SIVA? Or did the Vanguard cleanse it from the Moon so the Hive couldn't use it?

Notice in the risk/reward mission the tank that had the barrel cut off by siva was reattached

Edited by superskybro: 10/10/2019 11:38:30 AMI imagine multiple things happened behind the scenes between rise of iron and shadowkeep The replication chamber being destroyed prevented Siva from being produced, making it a finite resource. The splicers became the highest priority target for a while so I'm sure Guardians and frames where deployed to destroy as much Siva and splicers as possible on earth and the moon. And finally I'm sure the vanguard prioritized removing any traces of Siva outside Russa as it was too dangerous to fall into enemy hands, especially the Hive

1 ReplyI don’t care where it went, as long as it stays there and never comes back. I’ll sleep better knowing that....corruption ain’t causing problems anymore.

4 RepliesWhy aren't remnants of SIVA in the cosmodrone?

8 RepliesI kinda feel bad for taniks this time he's been resurrected like what 4 times? Just to be curb stomped by our guardian

1 ReplyBungie will probably bring Siva back somehow in a later season, they've managed to bring back omnigul twice now I think?

2 RepliesThere is a capsule with a SIVA symbol on it; it’s on the moon.

5 RepliesEdited by NeonPropose: 10/8/2019 6:24:39 PMi do believe the point of the summoning pits redux strike was to cleanse the splicers from the moon, as well as stop them from making more koviks (kovik is the name of the splicer priest with the orge eye canon). I'd like to think that the vanguard would've also sent teams to clean up the attacks on taniks and in the pits to make sure that SIVA was removed from them. it's never really been addressed; however you can actually find a Kell's Scourge servitor in the lost sector in the Anchor of Light, could be some there and we COULD see Siviks revived as a potential plot point later on. ultimately we have no real idea as to why it's not there other than, game design.

rise of iron was not suppose to happen, it was unplanned and numerous things from it have been retconned already for better or worse. they’ve made only a few allusions to it in all of d2 and even then they were incredibly vague

1 ReplyI’m sure SIVA will make a comeback

It’s safe to assume the Vanguard and Hive destroyed the last of those nanites. The destruction of the replication chamber supposedly didn’t affect any existing SIVA nanites.
