I have been playing Destiny 2 since day one exclusively on my Xbox. I have purchased every expansion from Osiris to Shadowkeep.
When it was on Battlenet for free I downloaded then dropped it cause I didn't feel like doing everything again. Then I heard cross-save was coming. So I went through the process of setting up cross-save, made sure my xbox account was the main place all my characters would come from.
So what will happen when I boot it up on steam?
Will all my characters from xbox be there? Will I have to purchase forsaken and shadowkeep again even though I already have them on xbox?
Just want these questions answered so I know if I have to spend any money on PC and that my xbox characters will be safe (Last thing I wanna do is lose YEARS of progess) any help and answers are appreciated.

4 RepliesIf you enable Cross-Save for your Xbox characters, then you will see them when you log into Steam. If you intend to do so, please set up Cross-Save before you log into Steam, not after. Make sure it's on. As far as the DLCs, Cross-Save does not transfer main DLC licenses. If you want full access to Forsaken and Shadowkeep on PC, you'll have to purchase the DLCs on PC. However, any Season Passes applied to your Xbox characters will move with you as they're granted through in-game processes.

Thanks to the both of you. I was really nervous cause I wasn't 100% clear on the full workings of Cross-Save (even though I already went through it) but knowing the characters I've put years of work into will be safe and available on both of my platforms of choice puts me at ease.

Edited by Dopefriik: 10/7/2019 7:57:40 AMEdit: ^^ Beat me to it. If you set your Xbox account as your active one for cross save then your characters / progress will be available. You will have access to Destiny New Light (base game plus Osiris and Warmind). Should you wish to access Forsaken and/or Shadowkeep on PC you will need to purchase them. Note that Forsaken is not required for you to purchase and play Shadowkeep.
