Cannot send private messages on bungie.net since PC move

EDIT: THIS HAS BEEN FIXED AT THE SERVER SIDE AFAIK Since the PC move, whenever I try to message someone on Bungie.net I receive this message: "Creating and replying to private message conversations is restricted to users with Destiny accounts." My account moved to Steam without issue and the game works fine. I've never played on another platform, my bungie.net profile is only linked to Steam. The D2 Companion app also doesn't work properly, I'm assuming that's related. EDIT: A workaround for this issue seems to be enabling Cross Save on your account.

    [b]Can confirm: enabling Cross Save is a functional workaround for this issue.[/b] What I did to implement this workaround on my end was to link a Microsoft (Xbox Live) account I had for Windows 10 games, and choose my Steam characters as the ones I want to use for Cross Save. I don't have an Xbox or own Destiny 2 for one, and simply creating a Microsoft account is free on its own, so repeating this process should [i]hopefully[/i] resolve the "unable to send private messages" issue all of us here are having. On the other hand, this is all based on the assumption that the problem is being caused by the "purchased" flag for Steam accounts somehow not being recognized while it still works properly for the other platforms, and if the actual problem is significantly different, this workaround may not work for everyone. But I'm fairly sure it will work for most people, if not everyone. EDIT: It may also be as simple as linking a Microsoft account without additionally enabling Cross Save, but I have no idea if that will fix the issue since I already took that additional step and don't want to lock myself out of Cross Save for 90 days.

  • Same problem here as well. Steam account is showing as linked in my settings, but Application History is also blank. The "Add Silver" button is also not working, but moving gear around using the Destiny 2 Companion app still shows up properly on my profile. I'm going to double-check my Steam account settings just in case profile privacy over there may be an issue, but I doubt it will do much. While I do, anyone able to confirm if they are running into this problem while also having Xbox or PSN accounts linked as well, or is it only happening for people with only Steam accounts linked? I have a hunch that the issue may be revolving around a missing "game purchased" flag on bungie.net for players on Steam, although I would expect the actual problem itself is considerably more complex (I know enough about programming to know [i]that[/i] much can be true, at least).
