I really really want to have access to Menagerie. I am a "dad-roll" and do not have much time to play. In addition, I do not use a mic because it is uncomfortable for me.
I joined a fireteam to beat Leviathan. It made it clear that it was the first time and you didn't necessarily need to know how to beat it. I joined the fireteam and messaged the leader to say that I had no mic and I had no idea what to do. I was told this was fine.
When we got to the Leviathan, to the big room with the puzzle, everyone in the fireteam was trying to figure out what to do. I was totally clueless. When I was instructed to do some steps as part of the puzzle, I was totally confused. Everyone started talking about how I was just sitting there and not doing anything. I was actually trying very hard to contribute, but I was quite confused.
This became very apparent as the team attempted to solve the puzzle. I messaged the leader to tell him that I wasn't sitting around, but was trying to help, but that I was very confused.
After about 5 minutes, I was thrown out of the fireteam without even one word.
This was a pretty nasty thing to do. You wouldn't be in a group of people doing something, with one person perhaps not understanding, and just throw them out of the group without a word. You would be obliged to at least say something--something like, wow you are terrible, you aren't helping, we have to let you go.
It was cowardly to do what was done to me. I feel that you should be as respectful in Destiny 2 as you would be to a person right in front of you. For people to treat other people like crap and to use a video game to shield you from your very disrespectful attitude is simply cowardice. I would love to sit down with the gentleman who threw me out without a word. Perhaps if I explained to him how it was for me in the mission, he might find some understanding. Stand up, have courage, and at least be civil to the people around you.
