steam download stops at 97%

For some reason my game doesn't want to surpass 77.4 gigs out of the 79.1 gigs it should download. I've tried downloading the game twice now, and it keeps getting stuck at the same percentage... does this error occur to multiple people and is there a known solution for it? (own both shadowkeep and forsaken on steam) Edit: I've also asked reddit and they came with a solution: Fixed it. Close Steam Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam and delete everything in the depotcache folder. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steamapps and do the same. Now log back into steam. Hope it helps you guys out!

  • Go through the fixes given in this article: Fix Steam Download Stopping Problem Simply follow the solutions and given steps. It helped to fix the problem with my Steam so it should work for you as well.

  • What do you mean with "and do the same" (second step)? Which folder should I delete? (There is no depotcache folder in the steamapps folder)

    • I can't find my steamapps folder in program files 86 because steam is installed on the D drive. Idk if this guide wants me to delete the steamapps folder with my games in it or some other steamapps folder

      • Mine did this as well. Network activity went to zero right at 77.4 gigs. I thought it was stuck at first and noticed disk activity fluctuating between 50-70 MB/s and also noticed the little auto-update status bar moving ever so slowly but it was moving. I left it alone for at least 30 minutes and it finally resumed downloading.

      • I'm having the same issue and also have tried uninstalling and downloading again twice. It seems fine until I hit 77.4 GB, which then all network activity stops. There's been consistent disk activity, jumping around 5-10 MB/s, but not much else. It eventually stopped itself and gave me an error from steam that lead to the download troubleshooting page.
