No season pass for family member

Hello, I've bought Shadowkeeper DLC with included season pass. In my account I can use all season pass benefits, but my family member, who login into same Xbox console, can't use it. Main menu shows that the pass is not purchased. How it can be fixed?

  • Hi there, Gameshare is not officially supported by Bungie or Destiny 2 and is instead a platform feature. Season pass premium track rewards are account based and cannot be transferred to other players.

    • I have the same problem as you @AnarBagirov17. I've created this topic if anyone would like to read. It is my idea for a possible way to get Bungie's attention and fix this issue and maybe other issues as well. Here is the link to the topic thread I have started: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/254221830

    • I bought Shadowkeep. There is one other family member on my family account. Yet neither of us has access to the season pass, and no credit for doing activities or quest lines. It's all broken, and yes, I will be requesting a refund tonight. Bungie isn't even acknowledging the issue.

Me and my husband are really pissed off. As it was untill today whenever my husband bought DLC or season pass I could use it too on our PS4 with him as console-owner. I have played Forsaken, and I had Access to Forsakens Season Pass. It appears you have changed the way this works rather shady not informing about that fact in the game. My husband bought season pass just for me, on his account. We have spent the money for nothing. No one will play it. Do you see the issue now? Every other PS4 game I know works this way, sharing. Greedy, greedy you've become. Give our money back then!!! Guess it is farawell Bungie, what a shame the worst things you've inherited after Activision is greed and shady moves. EDIT// Just to clarify - I can't access the storymode for Shadowkeep too.

        • Same here. Seems that the season passes are locked to each account rather than Ps4. This is a major issue for me as I used to play with my son and it looks like I might as well have not bothered buying Shadowkeep

          • Same here. Been playing destiny since the beta. If this is how Bungie is going to do business going forward I don’t want anything to do with it.

What a nasty move from you, bungie. From the D1 to Forsaken playing on all accounts on the same console worked (just like it should on the platform you sell your games), and suddenly now it doesn't. Yes suddenly, because you only stated that it will work "in a special way" for cross-save accounts (I mean that nonsense that we need to log in a specific order on steam and ps4 for it to work correctly), but not a single word about accounts on the same PS4. On my console all games are purchased via my account, but my wife plays Destiny, and I mostly don't. Now I've bought a deluxe edition and she doesn't have season passes at all! What the hell? edit: pre-order stuff is, actually, there.

          • So there was no point in buying one copy of shadowkeep if my friend wants to play on the same Xbox one but different account WOW.

            • My family member just signed on and was greeted with a button saying Buy the Season Pass. Was this announced in A Weekly update or somewheres in a vidoc? I regret buying the Deluxe Edition, because It means I bought a large portion of content my family can't play unless we fork over more cash. You had the choice to leave it the way it was but chose to be greedy. Buying additional Seasom Passes is to much to ask faimilies and friends. I hope you reconsider this in the future.

Please everyone share this response around as it explains the reason Your Season Pass is downloaded to your account NOT YOUR SYSTEM. Therefore there is nothing on your system to share between the accounts in the first place. DLCs are downloaded directly onto your console which inherently grants other accounts access unless Bungie were to do the same thing with the DLCs as well. Steam does this with their games to prevent license sharing which is technically illegal and against pretty much every single game's TOS. Its one of those unofficial features you're not supposed to use but everyone uses it anyways so its just looked over until something bad actually happens. Regarding a statement from Bungie about this I do not remember one however I will look and reply to this with what I found. I think Bungie was essentially trying to do the same thing as Steam here but also just generate more revenue. So smart move but also seriously? Leave any questions you have and I'll see if I can answer them. Edit: Loving all the downvotes and hate Im getting on these forums across multiple posts for telling the truth and even proving it. Just sad. If you're not going to listen to the facts of the matter and not accept the help being given just don't bother asking next time people. Ridiculous.

                • I posted a rant about this already because I also use gameshare with my son to play destiny. I've come around a bit, but something needs to be done. Here is the issue we face. Fortnite made this season pass popular and Apex Legends followed suit. Their season passes are account level. My son and I each had to pay on Fortnite. There is no gamsharing the season pass. And since their game is free to play this is the justification. I agree. Destiny's problem is they have free to play, paid new game, and paid season pass. It's confusing! Bungie copied Fortnite just like everyone else. I get it. I still think it's confusing when purchasing. Bungie needs to give people a do over in the first week but stick to their pricing options. Now if Shadowkeep doesn't support game share, I'm going to be pissed!! It's an xbox platform feature and all game makers need to abide by platform rules.

                • Out of curiousity, have you logged in to the other user's account, selected Destiny 2 (just select it, don't run it), pressed the menu button, and chosen "Manage Game and AddOns"? In this D2 specific area you will find a "ready to install" section, plus "updates" section. Many times the issue is simply that the season pass file does not get installed as part of the main installation, on any "extra" accounts on the console. This has happened for many players all through D1 and D2.
