Strangely, I feel that removing pinnacles from comp was a good move. The lack of incentive works both ways, as there's much less of a reason for carries to be a thing and people don't have to sweat buckets in lower ranks. There will still be competition, but it's more natural rather than forced because shiny rewards.
It's not the best way of looking at it of course, but now comp is more of a "play for fun" rather than "grind, grind, grind, reward? Grind, Grind, grind..." and so on.
I do still think there should be some kind of reward for playing comp, but something that discourages carrying/cheating while promoting a healthy playstyle. Whatever that is idk, I'm not too knowledgeable on what PvP needs beyond dedicated servers and ammo reworks. All I can say is that removing pinnacles was ultimately a smart move, but there should be some equally smart, and fun, compensation.
